diva-distribution's Issues

Unable to make other user superuser (DIVA 7.1.1 / SuSe 11.4 / Mono 2.10)

Hallo I have been trying to give another user superuser permissions on my opensim installation (newest available Diva-Dist). After reading through different docs on the web I set her Level to 300 (according to the docs it should be > 200). Whenever she tries to request admin-status (tried in different current viewers). The request is denied! I compared the user entry with my own and have not been able to find any differences.

Please advise.

Regards,

SilverDay

avatar profiles not editable

in my (last) version of the D2, avatars cannot modify their profiles. i have no idea where to begin to look for how to fix this...since i'm using my grid as an extension of my novel, it is important to me to give the avatars proper identities...would be grateful for a hint!

UserAccounts.ServiceURLs column blank

The robust db table.column of UserAccounts.ServiceURLs seems to be used to temporarily store a new user password and other things before the user is approved and created. At some point later, after the user is created, the column is then set to a NULL value. The OpenSim default for this column is "HomeURI= InventoryServerURI= AssetServerURI=". Please set the Diva Distribution to also use the default for this column when a new user is created such as with Wifi.

Need to reconfigure Wifi interface

I configured Diva d2 binary for 0.7.02 installed and configured. However, I had to restore the database prior to the diva install. I need to rerun the configuration but I can't find any where to trigger a reconfigure, and way to cause the sql update to rerun.

Can this be done.

Physic's Issue with the diva-distribution

Even though ODE is enabled, it seems I am unable to stand on all prims. Users fall through them. I am not sure if this is the appropriate area to report this but if you could look into it would be appreciated. Thanks

Stats on splash page all 0

On the splash page, all the stats across the bottom are listed as 0. I'm running in grid mode. as of the moment of this posting I have 1 user in world, 8 regions, 2 users, and 2 active in the last 30 days that aren't being reported.

email address issue

I have run into two different instances where WiFi doesn't seem to be handling email correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When a new user creates an account and it is held as pending I am getting the following error in the Robust Console

[Wifi]: Exception on sending email to (my admin email): The specified string is not in the form required for an email address.

I get a similar error when trying to use the password reset function.

[Forgot Password Post Handler]: Exception System.FormatException: The specified string is not in the form required for an email address.

Thank you for any assistance and all the work you did to create WiFi. This is a great add on to our grid.

Wifi User Management module missing! help!

The first error i get is " [DivaData]: Invalid cast for GridUser store. Diva.Data required for methor .ctor.

If someone can help on that perfect but now to the real problem

wifi service is set to load the file Diva.GridUserManagement.dll which does not exist and as you might think it makes the web interface fail i can't accept users or manage any accounts

Wifi Admin user recreated on update

When running the update.exe and updating to a new version, the database will include a copy of the admin user even though it is allready there. I still have the wifi admin user in my ini, maybe there needs to be a check for an existing user (or a hint that this setting should be removed from the ini afterwards)

unable to update r12751

Diva,

Per your direction, I am posting my problem here.

I have been running Diva Distribution (up to r12751) in conjunction with a software program call USBWebserver http://www.usbwebserver.net/en/. It allows me to run a Web Server on a USB flash drive, which affords me portability of running my 4 regions on various computers. Up to now (before r13458), I have not encountered any problems running Diva Distribution and updating as new versions were available.

Here is the routine I have follow to upgrade my old Diva Distribution.

I start the USBWebserver program. In the server is my database for the opensim.
It’s User ID is “root”. I have not found a way to change the User ID in the USB Webserver so it will read “opensim”.

To upgrade my old Diva Distribution, I ran the USBWebserver first. Then I ran the Update.exe. I then went to the new file for r13458 and ran the Configure.exe. Answered all the questions and ran the 32Bitlauncher to start the new Diva Distribution.

The command screen came on and ran for a few moments and then just terminated. The log for what it ran was this:

2010-08-09 18:58:07,207 INFO - OpenSim.Application [OPENSIM MAIN]: configured log4net using default OpenSim.exe.config

In an effort to try to figure out a way to run the program, I then went into the MyWorld.ini file and tried substituting “root” for the User ID instead of “opensim”. When I ran the launcher again, it seemed to be run, but a new red lines (not seen in the older version) came up. The command screen ran much shorter as well.

The following is a part of the error lines which ran:

OpenSim.Services.AssetService.AssetService [ASSET]: Loading default asset set from assets/AssetSets.xml

If needed, I can send the entire log for this 2nd attempt, using “root” as the User ID.

After this second attempt with the command screen, which ran to completion, I tried using a viewer (Imprudence) to access the sim. It ran as a standalone and I was able to rez the regions and assets on the regions. But the Avatar never rezed in and the Inventory (which was well over 30,000 items) was at 163 items.

What puzzles me is how well the past updates were for me. Even though I originally followed the steps as directed, the 32BitLauncher just crashed. And by changing the UserID, I could get the command screen to finish, but obviously the Avatar and Inventory were left behind.

I will admit to being as dense as a box of rocks, so please bear with my confusion. Perhaps there is a contact you could refer me to that can give me some personal guidance as to where I have gone wrong. I am in the Laguna Beach area and I am willing to seek additional help either in person or online.

Many Thanks

Problem with new robust wifi-0-7-1-a

I am trying to get wifi-0-7-1-a with a new robust installation having failed to get it running on an existing one. I am getting the following error:

[SERVICE BASE]: Failed to load plugin OpenSim.Data.IAssetDataPlugin from Diva.Data.MySQL.dll with args

And many more below that.

This is very similar to the ones I was getting on the other grid. Am I missing something obvious?

Denial of Service attack

The recursive #Include system cannot handle an estate number larger than about 800 due to the recursion in it, and the 1 MB stack space. The estate number can be almost unlimited in DreamGrid as it can handle thousands of regions. It also starts at 1000 now due to a need to skip over any possible estate. Web crawlers and rogue operators read an unused URL in the Diva code that is not normally used, and it will crash Robust due to the limited stack space of 1 MB.

I added a simple cutoff limit, shown below, which can be much lower than 500. I had to use a high estate number for auto creation of a a specific estate for Endless Land and Seas in DreamGrid. If you need a more details as to exactly what is happening and where, please contact me directly fred at outworldz.com.

Processor.cs line 141:

    private string Include(string argStr)

        if (m_Index > 500)
            return string.Empty;

Hi,
I installed Mono 2.10.1 from http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/download-stable/RHEL_5/repodata/
then i installed diva-r13981

using the out of the box configs (except for the changes made by running Configure.exe) I cannot seem to get wifi working.

Also there is no mention of it in the logs. Any ideas? Is there a way to increase the debug/log messages so i migh get a hint as to what is wrong?

18:31:53 - [GRID SERVICE]: Region Monerda 1 tried to register duplicate name with ID b432ae32-d6d9-42bf-ab8b-7bb39da17848.
18:31:53 - [STARTUP]: Registration of region with grid failed, aborting startup - at OpenSim.Region.Framework.Scenes.Scene.RegisterRegionWithGrid () [0x00000]
at OpenSim.OpenSimBase.CreateRegion (OpenSim.Framework.RegionInfo regionInfo, Boolean portadd_flag, Boolean do_post_init, IScene& mscene) [0x00000]

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks

drag of objects from clothing library only possible once per server run

I can drag a folder from the opensim clothing library that is installed with the diva distribution on my avatar to get that outfit copied to my inventory. But after I did that, the dragging doesn't work anymore for that avatar or for any other avatar until I restart the server, then I can again drag an outfit just once. Only noticed it because I decided today to set up the default avatars and it got a bit cumbersome due to this bug ;)

Might be a problem with opensim itself, though, can't say if it is specific to the diva distribution library.

Wifi add-on with opensim 0.7.4

Hi,

I've add the Wifi addon on a existing 0.7.4 Opensim's installation. It seem's to run, but when I try to manage the users, i've got this message on the Robust console
[DivaData]: Invalid cast for UserAccount store. Diva.Data required for method GetActiveAccounts.

On the web interface I get a "No users found"

Any idea whats going wrong with my installation

Thanks for your help

wifi email issue

i'm almost reluctant to ask this simple question here, but...well. in the WIFI.txt file, you explain that" Wifi sends mail via Gmail's SMTP secure server." - i run a ubuntu 10.04 server from home on a pc that sits on a lan. all is good with OpenSim including access from the internet. but i don't know what is the minimal setup to get Wifi to send email (apart from the certificate imports which i did).

thanks very much! great distro! love it! /marcus

can connect via internet but not via LAN anymore...

odd.

i'm running diva on an ubuntu 10.04 server which sits on a pc in my LAN configured with a static IP. all opensim access from outside (via dyndns.org hostname) works well. also, http://static_ip:9010/wifi works, but using this URI as LOGINURI for any viewer doesnt work. i get this error.

Connection request for client 3e0f4d6f-4fc8-4bcd-bd81-ed3e1fc192a3 connecting with unnotified circuit code 1942658104 from 192.168.178.21:54232

where 192.168.178.21 is the client computer on which i'm trying to open OpenSim (not the same as the server). any idea? could not find this on OSGrid forum...must be a simple thing. thanks again!

Issues with Hollowing out Prims?!

I am using xUbuntu 14.04 and mono. I have everything running, I am connecting fine from work [gotta love VPNs and VNC; play all day :-)]. Anyways, I am running newest stable 0.7.6 Diva Ditsro, I connected with Imprudence and working with Prims seemed fine I was able to texture and what not,but if I try to hollow or do any form of cut away on any prim either solo or in a group I see the box expand or the indicator move across the object and the client shows measurement change in text fields, BUT NO hollow space or doorways are being created.

Now interesting I used the newest SimOnAStick on my local work machine yesterday same Impudence client and I was hollowing walls, and cutting away door ways with no issues, and I swore it stated it is using the Divo Distro when I extracted it's files. It is only when I installed it in xUbuntu 14.04 that this happened, and I do not see any errors on the console [I am VERY good at computers I have grown up fixing them and using Linux all my life, but I am new to using OpenSIM [I never knew they had Open Source Second Life clone :-D [You like Minecraft? This is freaking Mine Craft on steroids! I am thinking of creating an interactive game as I was creating a MUD, but with OpenSIM I see the possibilities for a fully interactive 3D World game :-D.

OpenSim 0.9.1.0 uses .NET Framework 4.6

Note that for Diva Wifi, as planned by Diva, the current code (as at 13-Dec-2018) works with the latest STABLE release of Opensim. Currently this is 0.9.0.1 and is based on .NET Framework 4.0. The latest dev master and hence the next release will be 0.9.1.0 and uses .NET Framework 4.6. I can confirm that Wifi works fine with 0.9.1.0 dev master at present so long as all prebuild[.].xml files are amended to say Framework 4_6 rather than Framework 4_0. The XML files are in each addon-modules/ folder. Watch out for the THREE .xml files in addon-modules/00Data/ all of which need to be amended.

BUT... check first if the code has been updated, especially when a new stable release of OpenSim comes out.

Note that for adding in Wifi capabilities to OpenSim you don't need the addon-modules for 02AddinExample, OnLookSupport and ProcessorTest.

Wifi in Standalone 0.7.3.1 problem

Hi

wifi user management question: level/flag/title?

what are "level", "flag" and "title" for? the values are

level 0
flag 0
title local user

for me. does this have to do with HG jumping? (which i also cannot do - at least simply entering the address - as via hyperica list - of another sim does not get me there...) - "server commands" list on opensimulator.org did not really help either - explanation there is too terse for my taste.

thanks!
