The note in the readme (build = true,) was enough to get my pnpm monorepo working, which unfortunately isn't helpful to OP.

If you're looking for a project that actually has traction, https://github.com/solidjs/solid and https://github.com/sveltejs/svelte use pnpm workspaces.

Thanks (and sorry) for the issue, definitely wanna get this resolved. Could you create a sample repo that I could use to reproduce? I'm admittedly unfamiliar with pnpm monorepos.

One other thing you could try in the interim is setting the project¹ flag to point at the correct tsconfig
