A module for Foundry VTT importing Pathbuilder 2e characters.

I've been uploading a lot of characters, and this is the only one that I've had issues with. I've tried on a new server etc. but still get the same issue.
It seems to upload ok, but then when I click on the spells tab in the foundry character sheet, Foundry freezes and take a long time to load the screen with missing spells. Even once the spells are moved/deleted it's still unplayable slow.
Other than that, thanks so much for such an amazing app.
Hello,
When importing a character, any currency values that are set to "0" import as "1" in Foundry... sort of. You can see in the attached picture that although this freshly imported character has only 15 gp, in the Coins row at the top of the inventory, his character sheet lists him as having 1 platinum piece, 1 silver piece, and 1 copper piece that he doesn't actually have.
Thank you for all the work you do on this excellent module!
Foundry version: 0.7.9
Pathfinder 2e Game System version: 1.13.1.5391
Pathbuilder 2e version: 119
Pathbuilder 2e Import version: 0.1.18
Test character permanent link: http://www.pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=55796
As it stands, Zarmstrong had stopped updating the import a long time ago, and is no longer wanting to support it. As the original author, is there a chance you have a say in getting the project restarted by someone different?
Presumably because Kreighton's is left out of the app's version for copyright reasons.
The feats Dueling Parry and Dueling Dance don't convert.
I suspect that this is because Pathbuilder calls both the fighter and swashbuckler versions Dueling Parry and Dueling Dance, while Foundry refers to them as Dueling Parry (Fighter), Dueling Parry (Swashbuckler), Dueling Dance (Fighter), and Dueling Dance (Swashbuckler).
I haven't tested this, but the same problem might also arise with other feats that have slightly different versions between classes.
PS: I made the character to double-check it was just the feats, and there wasn't another cause. That's why the level 20 character doesn't have other feats.
Some of these are inconsequential or even make no difference, but as I understand it they should be able to convert:
"Lie to Me" doesn't convert and definitely should.
I don't know what "Special: Diplomacy" is. The trained level (master if it matters) converted correctly. It might be that I selected Diplomacy for my skilled heritage choice.
"Divine Ally" probably didn't convert because Pathbuilder 2e adds "(Shield)" to the end and foundry doesn't. The same thing happened with the duelling feats, so the same solution could work (though a more universal solution would be good, such as: if anything doesn't find a listing, check for parentheses and try again without them and their contents).
The champion's reaction improvements just aren't listed in Foundry (though they should be in my opinion).
This wasn't listed as a disparity, but I noticed that the Deity and Cause class feature also wasn't put in the character sheet.
(Issues are disabled on the @zarmstrong fork, so hopefully this is the correct place to post issues!)
If you uncheck the "Import Equipment?" box during the import process, the character's inventory is cleared. (Expected behavior is that existing items would be left untouched.)
Tested with:
Foundry: 0.8.8
Pathbuilder 2e Importer: 0.6.2
It's not automated. Hopefully that makes it easy.
Such as Darkvision, Low-light Vision and Scent.
Hi,
I just imported a character sheet. And he had a +1 Low Grade Silver Longsword.
The +1 Potency rune transferred over just fine, but the Silver did not.
I also assume the names not changing has something to do with the way the compendium is set up in Foundry and that not much can be done about that.
(On a separate note, is it possible for things to remain in their designated containers?)
Thanks for all your work!
Hey again! So I wrote a module for importing PCs from various places called HeroVau.lt (website: herovau.lt module: herovau.lt)
An upcoming release is going to support importing from HeroVau.lt itself, Herolab Online and Pathbuilder, with the latter two only if the HLO and Pathbuilder import modules are installed. Preview:
As such, I put in some hacks to prevent the user from having all the importer icon/buttons in the title bar of the character sheet:
Once I release it, I am going to submit a merge request that will prevent the Pathbuilder button from showing if Herovau.lt is active. Hope you'll keep your eye out for it and approve.
I expect to release probably in the next 12-24 hours. No rush on your side for integrations. Feel free to ping me on discord if you'd like: https://discord.gg/vTezJgwS

When importing a high level character the base speed is being brought in with any modifications such as from the constant effects of Swashbuckler vivacious speed or Monk incredible movement. A level 7 monk imports with a 40 foot base move speed, but since Foundry automates the speed bonuses of those abilities now so it leads to double dipping these speed bonuses. Pathbuilder also does not round the speed from vivacious speed down into 5 foot increments, leading to characters with 37 foot move speeds. This should be scrubbed. The issue is fixed by replacing the ancestry with one of the compendium versions.
(Issues are disabled on the @zarmstrong fork, so hopefully this is the correct place to post issues!)
Deity doesn't import from PathBuilder 2e's "About" page
Background doesn't import from the "Build" page.
Tested with:
Foundry: 0.8.8
Pathbuilder 2e Importer: 0.6.2
Foundry is now updated to 0.8.6 stable release.
This seems to have 'broken' the pathbuilder2e-import.
Hopefully its not a big fix. I was just onboards a whole new group of players hehe.
Hey man, great job on this. I wanted to rip some of your code out for me to use on my Herolab Online importer, but I don't see any license on your project. Can you either grant me permission or add a license to your project?
Thanks!
Hi team,
Importing a character with Ancestral Paragon > Arcane Tattoo > Tanglefoot causes an error:
The following items did not find a match in the Foundry database and could not be added. You may be able to find them with a manual search.
Special: Tanglefoot
Foundry version: 0.6.6 (stable)
PF2e version: 1.10.14.2141
Other modules active: none (deactivated all to test this)
Please let me know if you need any further details.

Not see any bonus spell slots after setting them at "Spells" and accept
It's not automated. Hopefully that makes it easy.
I wanted to check if there is any plan to change this?
Right now if a character is imported from pathbuilder you have to go through a lot of extra work to level it up within foundry. If the classes from the compendium were used new class features are unlocked once you update the characters level.
Stowed items won't transfer over. I assume this is because the names in Pathbuilder don't match what's in the compendium in foundry. Such as "+1 Chain Mail (Stowed)"
Another item was Oil.
Named "Oil" in Pathbuilder and"Oil (1 pint)" in foundry.
Custom items such as scrolls won't transfer either. I'm not sure if there's even a possible solution to that.
Example: A Bard character that is proficient in Rapier, but not in martial weapons will not complete the import process if they have a rapier ANYWHERE in their inventory in the Pathbuilder app. Tried this with Shortbow and Kukri while having Gnome weapon familiarity, all froze the import process before class, ancestry, inventory, and feats were imported.
When importing items, it obviously doesn't recognise any custom items created in-app. However, since Foundry supports custom items, it would be possible to auto-create items if they have been properly defined by the user in pathbuilder.
I'm not sure how much effort this would be, I imagine it's very possible but without having made Foundry plugins I don't want to assume. And, the "custom" tag would mean that those who don't want to import an item can simply not have it be imported, or alternatively offer a dialogue asking if a custom item should be created. But since actions can be associated with custom items, I imagine it could also auto-populate the available actions page on the character sheet.
Thoughts?
I think this is more an issue with Pathbuilder than this module.
when i had my players try to import their characters for a new campaign, no one was able to get equipment, feats, spells, gold to transfer. i am using pathbuilder 118 and foundry is up to date at 0.7.9
i have tried uninstalling module relaunching world, then reinstalling module. i have tried creating a new world. i have tried disabling other modules. but nothing seems to be working. i have had my characters send me their builds as well, but i have the same issue when i try exporting.
the Json file from pathbuilder seems to be correct. is there something i am missing?
