How to connect to existing Sqlserver database in vm.

Hey @kanakarajut - what all have you tried?

If you're trying to run the application from windows containers, you would update the connection string in the docker-compose.override.yaml file.

If you're not running it from the container, you would update the connection string in the Web.config

Hi Eric, Thanks for responding... I have updated web.config file with connection. This is not connecting as there is no vnet provision in azure Appservices on docker windows container in azure portal. How ever we found that, vnet configuration can be done from Azure CLI. Now we have configured app service with vnet, using azure CLI. Now App service on docker windows container is able to connect DB. One question, How dB connection in docker compose can establish connection to external private network dB server with out vnet configuration. Am I missing something?

Hey @kanakarajut - I'm glad you were able to at least get it working leveraging VNET.

How dB connection in docker compose can establish connection to external
private network dB server with out vnet configuration. Am I missing
something?

If you don't want to use a vnet configuration, have you tried specifying a range of IPs on the database that are allowed to access the DB?

Hi Eric, Thank you for your response. You mean App service outbound IPs in the DB server ? One more Question, Regarding SSL I have front door URL(with certificate) And Same certificate I have installed in the docker windows container for WCF service and configured IIS with https bindings. When I am tried consuming service it is throwing error as no soap end point listening. I could see service running in the browser. Thanks Kanakaraju
