Integrated Calendar for Departments

The calendar system should be lightweight. There is currently a system for adding events via a simple YAML files here (see readme.md): https://github.com/drylabyrinth/drylabyrinth.github.io/tree/master/_events

Two ideas for extending this are

1. have a server-side script updating this folder in the repo via entries in a Google Sheet or
2. have a javascript piece that pulls from the Google Sheet.

Ideally, we want to automate everything as much as possible, which would require this from each department who wants to participate:

[ ] Need trumbo or other event feed from each department

Integrated Course Schedule

Much like the integrated calendar, we'd like to have an up to date list of courses. The current page: https://drylabyrinth.netlify.com/courses.html is updated manually as an RMarkdown file from an editable google sheet.

If there is a better system to automate this where people can edit the course list directly, I'd love to hear it.

People: Write full research interests

@laderast don't we want the interests listed for people spelled out in full, rather than giving the abbreviations (e.g., "Molecular Dynamics" instead of "md")? Or did I do something wrong in my profile? Or would you suggest I lengthen the abbreviations? Since this is an outward-facing site, I don't think we want to use insider abbreviations. Maybe I misunderstood how things work.
