Operating system

Hello! From which OS are you performing all your steps?
In the bootloader installation you use two commands. I wonder if those cam be executed from macOS terminal

Thank you

Arudino Pro MINI / OLED/ CC1101 and POCSAG pager

Hi,

I am very happy that I found your project. For a long time, I search who will try use CC1101 and Arduino to create low-cost DAPNET PAGER POCSAG.

It will be nice to create code for Arduino Mini Pro which will be connected to CC1101 and 0.96" SSD1306 OLED, maybe add a buzzer to announce incoming message, and we can use a battery from phone mobile Li-ION 3.7V
It will be mont on universal board and very easy to for most hamradio operators
Would you be able to write this code for arduino?

Get away from Arduino sketch

Using Arduino IDE is convenient for now, but a bit limiting.
Close this issue when the project can be built and flashed without it.

Arduino sketch upload

Hi!

First thanks for this project. I wanted to do it since a while :)

I followed the instructions and I'm at the moment where I have to upload the sketch. I'm using the arduino IDE.
I don't understand when I have to press '2' to get the firmware from serial0.
When I do, serial0 doesn't wait and I the folowing from avrdude.

avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
I'm using the power from my usb to serial adapter. Might be it is wrong since it is 5v ? not 3.3

Thanks for your help

Something I am working on

Seems like it has been a while since @ea posted. I saw the RFM69/lora comment in another issue, so I am sure he has done much more than is on here and I get it, explore and creating stuff is fun....maintaining code and dealing with issues not so much.

For a while now I have been working on a CC1101 and ESP32 based low cost + most of rfcat capabilities and syntax. Since I am ~90% complete I grabbed one of these. I figure screen/keyboard + my code could make for a nice and cheap all in one. Plus I needed a distraction since I lost my old puppy.

My plan is to avoid the bootloader to save some space, and hopefully be able to port my code to take keyboard input and display outputs on this display. Radiolib is fairly large though and I am using that so a bit concerned there, and I will need to connect the CC1101 GDO2, for which I was thinking of using Q1 which looks to be ATmega128RFA1 pin 49.

Anyway if you are still around, I would appreciate thoughts on Q1, but thanks for the idea!

Power management

Make use of the power button to sleep/power off/on the thing.

Error compiling the Specan

While compiling, I get this error:
'SRXEHorizontalLine' was not declared in this scope

I installed the CC1101, and SmartResponseXE libraries. What am I missing?

AVRDUDE

Hello! I just got a couple of SmartResponse XE devices and I was trying to flash the bootloader. I have the USBASP and all wiring but I am unable to make de Avrdude command to work

`/bin/avrdude -C/etc/avrdude.conf -v -patmega128rfa1 -cusbasp -Pusb -e -Ulock:w:0x3F:m -Uefuse:w:0xF5:m -Uhfuse:w:0xD8:m -Ulfuse:w:0xFF:m

/bin/avrdude -C/etc/avrdude.conf -v -patmega128rfa1 -cusbasp -Pusb -Uflash:w:./SMART_bootloader/ATmegaBOOT_atmega128rfa1.hex:i -Ulock:w:0x0F:m`

I get System can't find route

Where am I supposed to put the hex file? I mean In which directory? I have installed WINAVR but there is no ETC folder

Thank you!

LoRa module

I was looking at the part where you bridged the 16-pin pad so that the 6-pin RS232 pad gave you Rx/Tx (nice!). However, which USART are they connected to? USART0 or 1? I would suspect USART0 but would like to confirm. Also, is there an access to USART1? (Not sure whether USART1 is available anyway, or already used by something else – but I'd like to add a LoRa module, and a usable USART would come in handy)

Thanks!
