The objective of KLog is to provide a free software that runs in GNU/Linux, macOS and Windows. KLog provides general purpose Hamradio DX logging support.

IMPORTANT

All the mailing lists, code and releases have been removed from Savannah and they are no longer available. I will wait some days to see if they can be recovered before looking for another place to host all the needed services.

Testing

KLog includes several tests that can be seen in the tests folders. You can compile and execute those tests as you compile any other Qt application. New functionalities should include the appropriate testing before they are released.

klog's Issues

"RX Frequency" displayed in red after importing QSOs using ADIF with or without this data

After importing QSOs in ADIF without "Rx Frequency" field, RX Frequency in QSO Tab is displayed in red with a value = 0,000.

F1 should point to Wiki

Missing 'View mode' for log records

The only way to view existing records in the log in detail is to 'Edit' the record.
At present a double click on a qso in the log list starts the edit mode.
I think that a single click (which highlights a single record) should also display ALL the details of that record in the 'qso' dialogue.
This is what I expect to see and find it confusing when I do not.
'Clear' would still clear this View.

QSL (paper or lotw) are not showing the status as confirmed (green)

When confirming the the qsl, the Info widget is not updating the status for that band to confirmed, green

Lookup current Callsign in qrz.com does not work from start of klog

To reproduce:
Start klog
Check that Tools -> QRZ.com tools -> Check always the current callsign in qrz.com is checked
Enter a Callsign // Nothing happens
Click on Tools -> QRZ.com tools -> Check the current callsign in QRZ.com // Nothing happens
Click AGAIN on Tools -> QRZ.com tools -> Check the current callsign in QRZ.com // Finally the data appears

This is repeatable in 1.4.7 and 1.5-RC2

On repeating the above after closing and running klog again, the Check box:
Tools -> QRZ.com tools -> Check always the current callsign in qrz.com has lost it's setting and is again unchecked, despite the matching checkbox in Setup -> Setup -> eLOG tab -> QRZ.com settings dialog "Check Automatically" being already checked.

Dupe range should be user configurable

Add in the Settings an option to allow the user to define the time range that KLog will measure to consider a QSO with same data as dupe.

QSOs not properly arriving from JTDX after 2-3 QSOs

I have still not been able to reproduce the error.

Add a check box on main display to disable status info from wsjtx and info from hamlib

When wsjtx is running it impossible to edit a record or manually enter a record without it being overwritten or deleted by data coming from wsjtx.
It is inconvenient to stop wsjtx and impossible to use klog settings to turn off status info, as doing so clears the edit in progress.

Add the RS-44 satellite

It takes too much to start, mainly with big logs.

Check the start up process to find why it is taking too much to start.
It also takes a lot of time after importing an ADIF file.

QRZ instead of callsign is still existing in some widgets.

Search results list has QRZ column heading, also 'Tools->QRZ.com tools' where two sub-menus refer to 'QRZ' rather than Call/Callsign. Setup-> User Data has QRZ not Call/Callsign.

Different selectable condigurations

As WSJTX, different configurations should be available and selectable by the user: callsign, qth, log, eLog...

Confirmed color in dxcluster and search should consider LoTW

User configurable input fields

Add one configurable field in the My Data and another one in Other.
To allow the user to manage SOTA, contests...

Add 2-3 qcombobox for the user ro select the ADIF field and 2-3 qlineedit for the data.

The eQSL user is sometimes lost from the setup.

Update the QSqlError management

Some functions are deprecated.
Update the error management.

"Keep these Data" checkboxes are not working properly when coming from "Modify mode"

"Keep these data" checkboxes in Comentary, My Data and Satellites Tabs are working correctly from one to qso to another, but if you double-click over another QSO on logwindow (to edit or check), after Modify or Clean, you loose all the data you want to keep on the different tabs.

QRZcomAuto= in klogrc is removed if checkbox unchecked.

If "Tools->QRZ.com tools->Check always the current callsign in QRZ.com" is unchecked, OR "Setup->eLOG->QRZ->Check Automatically" is unchecked, the next time "Setup->OK is used, the entry: "QRZcomAuto=True;" is removed from klogrc
It should only be set False not removed. This is 1.4.6.

Calls coming from WSJTX are not showing the right DXCC once one is logged.

Calls like XX0XX/YY are failing to be identified as in YY country.

The other way YY/XX0XX is still working

QSOs coming from WSJT-X are not sent to Queue for eQSL

QSOs manually entered are Queued to be sent to eQSL, but not new QSOs coming from WSJT-x.

Make it configurable to separate some widgets from the main window: DX-Cluster, Log, ...

Enable the possibility to avoid showing the info message after uploading logs to online providers.

When uploading to online service providers (eQSL, LoTW...) KLog shows a message at the end of the process informing that the temp file has been removed.
A checkbox allowing the user to select "don't show again" would be an option.

Some widgets have a color defined by KLog itself.
In dark mode some widgets have black text on black background.

We can:

• read the color on start, before modifying and use that color by default or
• create a config in the color tab of settings for dark mode.

The new WSJTX version is going to add these two modes.

LogView: Allow the user which fields are to be shown.

Clean the queries content to remove chars like ' from the data.

QSOs coming from WSJT-x in real time, comes without RX Frequency and they are saved on the database without RX Frquency and displayed in red as 0,000 MHz

Auto fill SatMode Line Edit in Satellites Tab

SatMode depends on Uplink/Downlink bands used. That's why is possible to fill it automatically without any user intervention.

Imported QSOs using ADIF without "my_gridsquare" can not be uploaded to LoTW

After Importing QSOs with "my_gridsquare" field empty, these can not be uploaded to loTW because they don't appear in the QSOs to be uploaded window. Once this field (MY_GRIDSQUARE) is fullfilled, they appear

Selecting a satellite that uses a new band fails to set the proper band

If the user selects a satellite that uses a band that has never been used, KLog fails to add the band to the used bands and shows empty or wrong band/frequency.
