SQL Express

Hi I have installed SQL Express 2019 in the basic version. The instance name is .\SQLEXPRESS. When I start Foca, I have the exact same problem as this user:

The user name is filled out automatically, the password can not be inserted.

I did not change the standard path or anything else.

Not able to extract metadata

After scanning a website and downloading the files it still wont let me use the "extract metadata" or "extract all metadata" options

Google api error..

Google, bing, duckduckgo. I can not adjust the settings, is there anyone who can tell by video? The error I got on Google (429) too many request. I reset network system and ip problem continues.. Please help.

Reporting Module?

I have installed FOCA 3.4 but I cannot get the reporting module to even show as a option in the menu. Can you help me to understand how to make it appear.

I have installed Foca 3.4, I have the SQL express, I installed Crystal Reports and I have vistual studio 2013 currently installed (2013 worked well with my last install of FOCA)

Needs a SQL Database although SQL Express is installed

I have installed the SQL Express 2019 sucessfully and run FOCA.
Unfortunatelly, i receive the message that FOCA needs a SQL databse and i have to setup a databse connection.
Same problem with SQL Express 2017.

Unable to find bin folder

I might be missing something very obvious here but I can not find either bin folder or executable file to install FOCA.
Just to clarify, I downloaded the zip file.

Please add the "How to Download and Install FOCA" in the website/readme.md , because it is quite typical for the beginner to do so.

As I assume it could be related to Google blocking automated requests somehow.

How do I make it work? There is no documentation anywhere.

Should I set a Google API key in Options -> General Info? Which key? Where do I get it? Should I go to https://console.developers.google.com, choose "Custom search API" and generate a key? I did that but nothing changed.

In #16, @jsperk suggested looking at https://developers.google.com/custom-search/v1/cse/list. What exactly should I look at? There is no answer to the issue there.

Same goes for this link https://github.com/jsperk/GoogleApiSearch — what exactly should I look at? Should I use the ApiKey AIzaSyDh9ps5jddxvrJLf_-_sU37bIPN0FWPB3w from https://github.com/jsperk/GoogleApiSearch/blob/master/GoogleApiSearch/Program.cs? It doesn't work either.

Can you please clarify how to make Google Search work in FOCA? Thank you.

Cannot load plugins

Hello FOCA team,

today I've installed the Foca v3.4.3.1 package (https://github.com/ElevenPaths/FOCA/releases/download/v3.4.3.1/Foca-v3.4.3.1.zip), on my Windows 10 box, but unfortunately I cannot load plugins.

The error is "Error import plugin.", the source path for the plugins is C:<My User Desktop Folder>\OSINT\Foca-v3.4.3.1\Plugins

Can you please suggest a fix ? I tried the fix suggested here: #20 but it does not work for me.

Descarga de archivos con tamaño 0

Cuando descargo archivos encontrados en la sección de metada, estos se descargan con tamaño de 0 kbs, por lo que no tiene metadatos que extraer. Estoy usando la última version (3.4.6.2), corriendo directamente el archivo .exe descargado desde el .zip de la pagina de releases.

Can't export data metadata

After analyzing the files and going to the metadata summary the results appear just fine. There is an option to Export Data to File on rightclick. However selecting that option creates a file with the important values missing for example this is the full output of the file:

It says "Software" 20 times without saying what it actually is. Same issue with Users

Plugin Installation

Hi I'm trying to install plugins to FOCA but I always get this error message: "Error import plugin."
I'm following all the steps as described in the videos, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?e=4&v=9maWHe7TWLE and still, I get this message.

Please clarify what may be the reason that plugins are not recognised
(I'm from Mac/Linux background, first time using Windows, so probably I'm missing something very basic here!)

I don't really know how more can I be helpful, are there any logs/information which might help? I can reproduce it at any time because it won't run at all. Even when I tried to change compatibility to Windows 7...

I find all kinds of info on installation in Windows, nothing useful for LINUX at all that isn't old as hell, and not ONE SINGLE instruction for installation here. Nothing in the READ file either...

I just want to install this thing on Parrot Security OS to try it out...

Failed to detect pdf file type ("df") file type detected instead

When the URL doesn't end with PDF (although Google results were successfully parsed and given file is indeedn a pdf file); FOCA won't recognize it. Instead of "pdf", the detected file type is "df":

Please add PluginsAPI.dll source code to extend the plugin's API.

@jsperk @jaesga I was checking the Import operations enabled to do Plugins and a lot still being not implemented. Could add the PluginsAPI source code to the repository to extend the api?. If we can work with the Plugin's API we can mantain more cleanest the core of Foca.

Error al cargar los plugins

Buenas.

Al intentar cargar cada dll de los plugins de la carpeta Plugins-Release se produce un error y no se carga ninguno. Adjunto imagen.

S.O.: Windows 10 - Fall Creators update 64 bits
Versión: Foca Opensource 3.4

FOCA Crash: Network Dictionary Search

When starting a network search, if the Option Dictionary Search is enabled with the provided stock hosts.txt file, FOCA crashes:

In the Event-Logs, this is all I can find about the Crash:

Is this a Bug inside FOCA or am I doing something wrong with the configuration?

Total found result count is just 1!!

I have configured Google API and followed the steps mentioned here for getting "(429) too many requests" message.

but when I started searching, I got the following message: GoogleAPI search finished successfully!! Total found result count: 1

How is it even possible to get only 1 result?

Note: I have seen people doing gathering metadata for the same domain I tried to use and got a lot of data to export the metadata from them.

Al bajar el primer archivo a mi unidad C o D, ejecuto FOCA.exe, pero windows 10 no puede abrirlo
y de pronto de cierra con el mensaje "FOCA (OPen Source) dejo de funcionar El programa dejo de funcionar correctamente por un problmea. Windows cerrara ...."
Cual podria ser problema?....falta algo por descargar o algun complemento por el cual no pueda correr en windows 10?

It would be great to have a User-Agent setting in FOCA, as well as customer HTTP headers for Cookies, basic auth, ...

Can't use SQL Server Enterprise

I have SQL Server 2017 Enterprise registered but I still get the error when starting, saying that I need a database.

I tested in two different machines, both of them working and with Enterprise version installed. I tested some programs I made and the SQL Server is running with no problems.

winetricks dotnet461

I am not being able of running the $wine FOCA.exe because when I install dotnet461 with winetricks it sais I dont have mono installed, and also it sais that should be win32 or something like that, I dont really understan how does it works.

Projects will not save

Whenever I attempt to open a new project, the first error message appears. In some cases it does not allow me to initiate a project, in some cases it does (generally I have to click tasklist first, for whatever reason). Whenever I attempt to save a project, the latter error message appears. So far I have been unable to save any projects and have to reload and redownload everytime I open the application. Any suggestions?

Direcotiro Foca release no esta visible

Par ainstalar foca en windows no aparece el Foca .exe que nrmalmente estaba disponbile en el diectorio Foca release.
El otro caso es que en Linux , en los tutoriales disponbles no se adecuanal contenido actual del repo en git....

I need help, i´m trying to do a Google metadata search, but I recive this error.

Installation

There is no bin folder, hence there is no FOCA.exe file.

Second level domains are labeled as FQDN

When searching a domain that has a ccTLD, such as example.com.mx, .com is taken as the domain name. This behaviour is incorrect, it should list the domain name as example.com.mx

An error occurd on GoogleWeb 429 too many requests

Hi,
I tried running a scan on a domain, and it all worked fine but after I tried running another one I got this error message:

And it hasn't gone away since. I tried opening wireshark and sniffing to find the relevant 429 status code packet, so I could see how long I need to wait to run another search, but I can't find the packet, which is really weird.

not only that, it seems that it is running the queries fine, I can see all the query packets to google, so I'm not sure why FOCA says it is being blocked.

Does anyone have any solution?

Plugin SQLi

Tras cargar el plugin SQLi, cargar sqlmap, al lanzar el scan, no termina de ejecutarse nunca. En la ventana de cmd que se abre tras cargar sqlmap, aparecen constantemente estas líneas:

En el administrador de tareas el proceso de python está ejecutándoselo y consumiendo más de 30% de cpu.

Versión de FOCA: 3.4.7.0

Hangs searching for any file

Hi,
Well it occurred to me lately that FOCA won't find anything. I checked via Google with parameters copied from debug log and it found file -pdf

It only shows an error with no helpful description.

What is more, it sometimes works but rarely.

UI components not visible on some screen resolutions

Some UI components seem to be fixed height / length size, preventing buttons and text from being visible when used in a smaller screen resolution.
Example:

• project Notes and associated buttons (Create, ...) are only visible with height 1440px.
• Settings "Modul..." list view only partly visible regardless of screen resolution.
