Unclear how to import - insufficient docs

The Usage section in the documentation is incomplete - pasting as-shown results in

Uncaught ReferenceError: Smoke is not defined

It is not made clear how to correctly import Smoke. I have tried

import "smoke-effect"

import Smoke from "smoke-effect"

import whatever as Smoke from "smoke-effect"

as well as variations with the absolute path from "./node_modules/smoke-effect/dist/smoke.js" path specified, with no success.

How is this intended to be imported? Could the docs be updated to include that?
