Type of personal information we collect
We collect and process the data contained in the file uploaded by the user to convert the format of the file.
We don't receive nor store any other personal information.

How we store your personal information
The data contained in the file uploaded by the user is securely stored in the website server storage for 15 minutes.

We keep the data contained in the file uploaded by the user for 15 minutes after the user has started the conversion of a file with DMPConverter. After this period of time, all data will be automatically deleted.
We don't store any other personal information. We only store the converted file for 15 minutes in order to be available for the user to download.

The data contained in the file uploaded by the user will not be provided to third parties, unless there is an appropriate legal ground for it, or you have given your explicit consent.

Simplify or not the outputs of the converter

Currently, our converter try to re-create the exact layout of every funder's template (such as the 2 columns table with blue and grey headers for FWO etc...). However, it seems that this is not needed since funders accept DMP created on DMPonline, which doesn't not re-create funder's layout when exporting a DMP. So, I was wondering if could be better and easier for us to manage a template+converter with simpler layout.

Here there are examples of the layout of DMPs exported from DMPonline:

Small fixes

• Should we add the text of the "T&C and Privacy Policy" in the GitHub repository as well? Or it only applies to the tool and not to the code?
• Make the name consistent everywhere: DMP Converter (2 separated words with Capital first letter)
• replace this link https://datahub.elixir-belgium.org/converter with the correct one https://dmpconverter.elixir-belgium.org ?

Different output for TXT and JSON input

• if the input is JSON format:
  • multiple choice answers are not visualised after conversion
  • the sentence "question not answered" doesn't show after conversion

Add README and licence to this Github repository.

@vdkkia @rabuono I tried to explain how the 3 templates should be visualised after conversion in the word doc below. Please, let me know if it makes sense to you.

Comments and "to do" are listed in this google doc.

• costs for storage and backup ended up merged with costs for sharing, leaving costs for storage blank.
• Make "Other" H2020 section/question as separate section, not part of Ethical and legal issues section.
• Replace "Other. Specify below." with "Other. Specified below."
• Add instruction about "how to use the converter" into DMP template.

• Might be better to FIRST upload the file and THEN choose the funder layout
• Replace the sentence "Convert from ELIXIR format to:" with "Convert from ELIXIR Belgium template to:"
• Change the sentence "Drag & Drop..." with "Drag&Drop or Browse your file exported from DMPonline in .TXT format" (or something similar)
