rdm-guide's Issues

Credit

Could we use the "Credit" page in the sidebar to mention the authors of the website (Bert, Miguel and I)?
We have references at the end of each page, so I don't think we need a list of references also in the "Credit" page.

New description for landing page

Since only Belgian RDM services and tools will be described in RDM Guide while common guidelines will be available in RDMkit, I propose to edit the description in RDM Guide landing page as below:

" Research Data Management Guide (RDM Guide) is an information resource about research data management for biologists and scientists in Life Sciences, curated by ELIXIR Belgium. RDM Guide describes national data management guidelines, resources, tools and services available for researchers in Belgium, which can be applied from the beginning until the end of a research project.

Complementing RDM Guide, common best practices, tools and resources provided by several scientific communities across Europe and data management experts in ELIXIR, can be found in the RDMkit. "

@roncoronimiguel @frederikcoppens What do you think?
I will make a PR after your approval.

extra info about repositories

The Horizon Europe DMP template requires very specific answers that could depends on the kind of services provided by data repositories. We could try to find out the answers to the following questions, for each data repository:

  • [HorizonEurope] Per repository, specify if it will resolve the dataset identifier.
  • [HorizonEurope] Will metadata be made openly available and licenced under a public licence?
  • [HorizonEurope] Per dataset, specify for how long the data will remain available and findable and if metadata will be guaranteed to remain available after data is no longer available.
  • [HorizonEurope] Will dataset metadata be provided in a machine-readable format to be found by search engines, registries or databases in an automated way (tags, keywords)?
  • [HorizonEurope] How will you document data provenance? Specify if appropriate standards (such as W3C Prov Model Primer) will be used.
  • [HorizonEurope] Per dataset, specify if (meta)data will be provided in data interchange formats (such as RDF, JSON-LD, etc).
  • [HorizonEurope] If your dataset is related to other existing datasets, specify the reference and the type of relation between datasets (qualified reference).

@roncoronimiguel @rabuono @bedroesb @frederikcoppens If you have some of the information, please feel free to add it to this spreadsheet.

HE DMP question

Place the HE DMP question "Will the data be accessible through a free and standardized access protocol?" as separate question in the guide and in the mapping file.

Suggestions elixir-be monthly meeting September 2020

To do:

  • Make a chapter about software
  • Make a chapter about workflow
  • General info about storage, until FOSB data architecture is more clear
  • Add VIB DMP tool
  • Put recommended repositories as first suggestion in "Data Management in Simple Steps"
  • Put EGA under Genomics, not transcriptomics
