Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Rust installed on your system (https://www.rust-lang.org/tools/install)

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/elutac/rustysum.git

2. Navigate to the project directory:

cd rustysum

3. Build the project:

cargo build --release

4. Add the binary to your PATH or use it directly from the target/release directory.

Usage

rustysum <file>

Replace with the path to the file you want to count words in.

PDF text extraction issue: words are split into individual characters

When extracting text from a PDF file, the words are split into individual characters instead of being recognized as complete words. For example, 'test' is extracted as 't e s t'. This makes the word count inaccurate and causes issues with further processing. A solution should be found to properly extract complete words from PDF files.
