2D Lighting

We need to make global lighting apply only on background elements, the grid should not be affected.

Still looking to solve this

SPACE 1 - Design Choice

Story

Was thinking of combining the story of Snow White and Rose Red and The Queen Bee where the two girls go home and help different animals of humans and they will be rewarded on the path. The goal is to arrive home safety.

I'm not sure if we can combine two stories to create one, they say "The key requirement is simply that the story is identifiable as being inspired by one of the three above."

Also, they say "We have linked to existing texts for these stories, which you are free to use, extend, or ignore."

We can ask Dave or Tom.

Alternatively we can introduce a dwarf, so if they choose to help him will be rewarded somehow in the future, don't know how. Open to suggestions.

Modern - High Tech Path

One of the paths will be high tech one. We need to change the characters when they arrive on Space and also think of enemies and obstacles that fit each level. I was thinking of technology evolution from the basics to the moon missions.

Still don't know how to design each level particularly, I came up with a design for the last level which I think it looks ok. I was thinking to finish the game at that point by an animation of an alien spacecraft taking the two little girls to their house from Level1-5. The ending point would be something funny since they will wear space suits and will come back to their medieval roots.

Desi [alternative implementation] poate ar fii fain sa pastram folosirea mouse-ului si sa colectezi itemele cu click sa sa le folosesti cu drag&drop.

Astept pareri, feedback si ce ar trebui modificat.

Dynamics

Mecanicile nu sunt sufieciente cat sa ne facem o idee asupra implementarii si asupra calitatii jocului asa ca vreau sa listez niste dynamics sa vedem calitativ cum este jocul.

[1] Snow white sa ajunga la sora ei inainte sa se faca noapte (sa se termine timpul).
[2] Rezolvarea puzzle-urilor prin interactionarea cu environment-ul (mutand chestii, trecand peste obstacole si evitand inamicii).
[3] Oprirea inamicilor ???? (facem sa poti omori inamicii sau sa fie doar niste obstacole care iti iau din vieti?)
[4] Gasitul de key items si crafting pentru a ajuta NPCs.
[5] Alegerea dintr-o lista de actiuni ce afecteaza povestea jocului

TUTORIAL 0 - Design Choice

The idea is:

  • Start from the left and have to paths, up and right (up, go to galactic, right keep the medieval theme)
  • There will be a bear who needs help, you can choose to help him and you will be rewarded later on.
  • Was thinking some of obstacles

Not sure about the controllers, suggest keeping the keyboard only, no mouse use. Open to suggestions.

Main Menu Design

There is a complete design for Main Menu. It is based on Snow White and Rose Red story where the two girls were waiting for coming dawn.

"No mishap overtook them; if they had stayed too late in the forest, and night came on, they laid themselves down near one another upon the moss, and slept until morning came, and their mother knew this and did not worry on their account."

Added a bit of lighting animations. Looking for improvements, comment down below.

SPACE 4 - Design Choice [FINAL SPACE LEVEL]

There is a design of the last level which I think it looks good, need another opinion. According to the story at this date the final portal needs to be added.

Game Name

Current name is Twins' Adventure Puzzle. Seems a bit long, open to suggestions.

Main Menu buttons functionality

Add functionality to:

  • EXIT button (just close the game, eventually display a confirmation message)
  • PLAY button (load the first scene, namely Level1)
  • SETTINGS button (create a menu with sound functionality, we will add more later on)

All this should be done using the current assets. However, any asset that fits the theme can be used.
