Hi! My name is Ed, and I'm currently a machine learning engineer at Hazy working on improving a privacy-preserving synthetic data generation platform for enterprise data analytics.

I studied at the University of Edinburgh, with an MSc in Statistics with Data Science at the School of Mathematics, and a BSc in Computer Science at the School of Informatics.

I normally work with Python, mainly using it for machine learning or data related things, as well as any general purpose scripting, task automation or web development.

I did my fair share of Ruby development back in the day, and I am also familiar with the use of R for applied statistics, but lean heavily towards Python.

arx's Issues

Add 'category' alias for 'primary_category' instance method

Write new inspect methods for entities

HappyMapper pollutes entities' inspect calls with instance variables that aren't used.

It would be best to instead inspect the relevant methods to the entity.

Using something like this maybe?

Use URI.open instead of Kernel.open (after 2.7)

After Ruby 2.7, using Kernel.open was deprecated and raises a warning, suggesting that URI.open be used explicitly.

Add specs for submitted_at and updated_at fields

#97 and #93 implement searching by lastUpdatedDate and submittedDate but are missing tests.

Add a development branch

Remove unnecessary arXiv information from README.md

There isn't really a need to include a screenshot of the arXiv advanced search form in the README.md, as well as the description:

arXiv is an e-print service in the fields of physics, mathematics, non-linear science, computer science, quantitative biology, quantitative finance and statistics.

Could I download pdf with arx?

Could I download pdf with arx? Is there a user-friendly API to do it?

Add more CI rubies

This package is quite old, and although most functionality is working and tested quite well, CI rubies are missing for stable versions: 2.7, 2.8, 2.9 and now 3.

These just need to be added to .travis.yml, and we need to hope that nothing breaks in these versions!

Fix JSON warning after 2.7.0

After v2.7.0, the JSON gem produces the following warning when Paper#as_json is called.
