blockscout's Issues

5xx page issues

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zA33Ik3c-1Hq-MyxZCGbxAqN4Hu-5G8EH7G-QTQtG7s/edit
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sQTk6zcENzoDQBdnykObYj4GPuaWvpaZ1Upoq9wNqxs/edit#heading=h.tgwa4puicwmp

Issue details
URLs that return one of the 5xx HTTP status codes (Server Error).
URLs return 5xx status codes when the server is not able to fulfill the request.
These URLs can be accessed neither by your website visitors nor by the search engines crawlers. Crawlers will be forced to abandon the request while people will most likely leave your website.

How to fix
Review the list of 5xx URLs.
Try to reproduce the server error reported by the Site Audit for these URLs in your browser. You should also check the error logs for your server. If this is an ongoing problem and a lot of internal pages return 5xx code, you need to check with your hosting provider or with your web developers. Your server may be overloaded or misconfigured.
You should also note that this can be a temporary issue, e.g. when the crawl took place during some maintenance on your website's server.

Unable to verify contract due to contract creation transaction not being indexed yet

A user report came in which shows that in the case of a contract not being indexed yet, they are unable to verify their contract.
However, it seems the contract creation transaction does show up on the stack.

The address also says: "Error: Could not determine contract creator." on blockscout.

Environment

  • Mainnet

Steps to reproduce

Please see the internal EVM telegram group as the reporter has not approved public display of their information.

Expected behaviour

The contract should be able to be verified.

Actual behaviour

The contract cannot be verified.

Remove or edit this text in the block explorer since paying more gas doesn't prioritize tx on EOS EVM

Robots.txt not accessible

https://docs.google.com/document/d/10jfPxoQ1_DmHve30DWBRN9_9C2u-AZKCW7Agp13FCHQ/edit#heading=h.ig0cyzhv1ysb

Issue details
Site Audit bot could not access the robots.txt file on your website. We either got an HTTP code that denies us access to the file, or the server failed to satisfy the request. When this happens, our bot behaves conservatively, and considers the entire domain disallowed from crawling.
The most likely reason is that your website is blocking our crawler from accessing it on the server side. This issue should not affect visitors, but it does mean that some crawlers may not be able to crawl your website.
How to fix
Check that you do not have a firewall or plugin blocking bots; and if you do, to whitelist our AhrefsSiteAudit user-agent on that system.
Please also add our IPs to the server's whitelist.

CPU consumption keeps going up

image

This looks abnormal.

A scheduled daily reboot of indexer should be able to work around the issue. But we should try to investigate the root cause.

Move indexer to RPC machine

As the indexer is the believed root problem related to CPU consumption issues, we should move it to the rpc machine to reduce impacts to other services, but also monitor performance more directly.

Depends on #23 . We will revisit this after the upgrade is complete because they have restructured how the frontend is managed, which will require more consideration before making this change.
