InstaFlame (work in progress)

Summary:

This is a simple instagram clone using the MERN stack. Users can sign up, log in, follow, unfollow, like, comment and more.

How to use the app:

• Sign up to the app and then sign in with your credentials.

• You can upload a profile pic on sign up if you want but it is optional. You can update your profile picture later

• Once signed in, a user can navigate the posts and create new posts.

• You can view user profiles to follow them.

• View following posts will only show the user the posts of the users that they follow.

• A user can unfollow users on their profile

• A user can also click on their own profile to update their profile picture and view their own posts

How to set up the project on your local machine:

1. Clone the repository to your local machine

2. Navigate into the server folder.

3. Run "npm install" to install the node modules

4. Navigate to the client folder and run "npm install" to install the node modules for the front end

5. Run "npm start" to start the front end of the project on http://localhost:3000/

6. Navigate to the server folder to run the back-end and run "nodemon app.js" to start the backend

7. Navigate to http://localhost:3000/ to view the project
