Yakuza 0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2 & Like A Dragon Free Camera Tool

build-release

Buy Me a Coffee at ko-fi.com

This is a free camera tool for Yakuza 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2. It works in Cutscenes and freeroam.

DEMO

This only works with the Steam version

Features

Yakuza 0 & Kiwami:

  • You can release the camera in almost every place
  • You can pause the cinematics and move the camera around

Yakuza Kiwami 2:

  • You can release the camera in almost every place
  • You can pause in freeroam and in the cinematics (experimental)

Yakuza Like A Dragon:

  • You can release the camera in almost every place
  • You can change engine's speed at any time (i.e. pause the game).
  • Check the instructions for this photomode before using it.

Usage

You should see a Command Prompt window with instructions. If one briefly flashes on the screen, or doesn't appear at all, you may need to open Command Prompt yourself and run it to see what went wrong.

Usage YLAD:

You have to deactivate Motion Blur if you want to mess with the world paused

Currently, you can only use it with a controller (no keyboard support)

  • R1 + R3: Photo Mode Activation
  • Left/Right arrow: Change engine speed
  • L2/R2: Change FoV

Compilation

Yakuza Zero:

cargo build -p yakuza0 --release

Yakuza Kiwami:

cargo build -p kiwami --release

Yakuza Kiwami 2:

cargo build -p kiwami2 --release

Yakuza 6?

Any chance this works with Yakuza 6 since it's a dragon engine game like Kiwami 2 and Like a dragon?

Does this support windows store version?

It shows "Game hooked", but no effect.
When I press the controller button, nothing happened.
When I press the keyboard shortcut, the console print "activation" and "deactivation", but no actual effect.

More camera controls?

Hello!

I've been enjoying your freecam tool; it's a lot of fun! I'm wondering if it's possible to add a few more directional controls for the camera.

I'm looking for strafe-up and strafe-down movement (so basically "jump" and "crouch" directions if that makes any sense). Currently in order to move the camera up or down, I have to first look up/down then press forward or backward.

The following are totally optional, no worries if they aren't possible:

  • rotating the camera clockwise and counterclockwise would be cool,
  • Changing the FoV. Especially during cutscenes with a far FoV, it's tough to get closeups of characters without clipping into their models. Sorry I'm an idiot, I just noticed the FoV controls >.<

(Sorry, I'm totally spoiled by NVidia Ansel ^_^;;;)

Thanks for your efforts! It's an awesome tool!

Panic if the game isn’t running

Without any info on how to use this (though I added some in #2!), I tried running the exe, and it failed with a panic message, and ultimately it was only reading the source code that revealed that the panic was because it expected the game to be running already:

thread 'main' panicked at 'assertion failed: process_id != 0', memory-rs\src\process\mod.rs:46:5

It’d be nice if the program would explain that the process needs to be running first, rather than this panic about a process ID being zero:

https://github.com/etra0/memory-rs/blob/c3653691f296e08d562985f897428b48dddde93d/src/process/mod.rs#L46

I’d be willing to help out but given it requires a patch to both this and your memory-rs to return Error types rather than panic I didn’t want to jump right in presumptuously! Let me know if you’d like me to tackle that.
