Make it easier to input phonemes

Right now to enter phonemes in the form input field, I have to go look up the phoneme and copy paste it in. There's also no way to know if a phoneme is supported or not until you click submit. I'd like to have some UI (dropdown menu? list of phonemes printed on the page? buttons?) that show which phonemes are supported (i.e. phonemes in ipa-mappings.js and allows the user to easily enter them into the text field.

Feels like a complex UX problem and a reasonable amount of work depending on the solution, so haven't gotten around to it - but I would be down to help someone add this :)
