Django Setup

• install python virtual environment

    pip install virtualenv

• create a virtual environment

    virtualenv ENV

• activate the virtual environment

    ENV\Scripts\activate

• install dependencies

    pip install --upgrade pip
    pip install -r requirements.txt

• run the server

    python manage.py runserver

Django Setup using Anaconda

• install anaconda

  • for WindowsOS, follow https://docs.anaconda.com/free/anaconda/install/windows/
  • for LinuxOS, follow https://docs.anaconda.com/free/anaconda/install/linux/

• create a virtual environment

    conda create -n ENV 

• activate the virtual environment

    conda activate ENV

• install dependencies (please make sure you are in the "Back-end" directory)

    pip install --upgrade pip
    pip install -r requirements.txt

• run the server

    python manage.py runserver

How to run the database migration

    python manage.py makemigrations accounts
    python manage.py makemigrations project_api
    python manage.py migrate accounts
    python manage.py migrate project_api
    python manage.py migrate

React Setup

• go to the project directory

    cd Front-end/syncinc

• install dependencies

    npm install

• run the server

    npm start
