YouTube Instant - Really fast YouTube search.

It started out as a bet with my roommate, Jake Becker. I bet him I could build real-time YouTube search in less than an hour. Sadly, I lost the bet – It took me 3 hours to finish it, and another couple hours to polish the user interface into what you see now at YTInstant.com. But, I’m happy with the result.

It got 1 million visitors within 10 days of release, and the YouTube CEO, Chad Hurley, offered me a job over Twitter.

About this repo

Posting this code here now, since I've recently been asked for the original code several times. Until now, the only YouTube Instant code that's been available is the minified version on the live website and the unfinished coffee-script port I started and put here on GitHub. So, here's the orignal code now. For you.

The code is pretty terrible, but that's part of the beauty of the whole thing. None of Us Knows What We're Doing and "Done is better than perfect" are totally true in this case. For a better representation of my programming ability, see my more recent repos.

Action required: Greenkeeper could not be activated 🚨

🚨 You need to enable Continuous Integration on all branches of this repository. 🚨

To enable Greenkeeper, you need to make sure that a commit status is reported on all branches. This is required by Greenkeeper because it uses your CI build statuses to figure out when to notify you about breaking changes.

Since we didn’t receive a CI status on the greenkeeper/initial branch, it’s possible that you don’t have CI set up yet. We recommend using Travis CI, but Greenkeeper will work with every other CI service as well.

If you have already set up a CI for this repository, you might need to check how it’s configured. Make sure it is set to run on all new branches. If you don’t want it to run on absolutely every branch, you can whitelist branches starting with greenkeeper/.

Once you have installed and configured CI on this repository correctly, you’ll need to re-trigger Greenkeeper’s initial pull request. To do this, please delete the greenkeeper/initial branch in this repository, and then remove and re-add this repository to the Greenkeeper App’s white list on Github. You'll find this list on your repo or organization’s settings page, under Installed GitHub Apps.

SearchBox not working

The webpage loads at first launch with the default video id, and automatically generates random keywords but fail to load the files.

The current API is deprecated and not supported anymore.

ytinstant stopped working on latest chrome browser - windows

Site loads but searching anything on search bar doesn't produce any result..just the loading icon.
