goombasend's Introduction

GoombaSend

A gc and wii homebrew application send gameboy roms to a gba with the link cable.

Usage

All you need is a folder called "roms" on your main device (sd gecko on gamecube and sd/usb on wii) and put in some gb and gbc files.
If you then start GoombaSend you can just select the file you want and transfer it to your gba in port 2 by pressing a.
This project uses Goomba v2.30 as the gameboy emulator so if you leave your gba inactive for 5 minutes it will automatically go into sleep mode which you can wake up from by pressing start+select.

Limitations

Please note that because this all gets put into the gba ram the max file size including the goomba gba (42.4kb) is 256kb.
Also you obviously wont be able to save whatsoever since this is all just temporary.

goombasend's Issues

Saving to Wii/GCN?

Would it be possible to save the temporary save to a GCN/Wii, to be further loaded from another point in time?

E-reader loading support for larger sizes?

From what research I've done (and by that I mean looking at the bulbapedia article and caitsith's site), the e-reader seems to have 8 Megabit (1MB) of (I think) storage memory. The e-reader is also capable of saving nes, z80, and gba data (though with the latter I'm unsure if it's the same format). It's also capable of receiving this data by link cable, rather than a card reader (for the US versions, at least). With this in mind, would it be possible to load GoombaSend into an e-reader, thereby providing it with more space to work with (which would then eliminate the size restrictions for most GB/GBC files)?
