A 2012 Chrome theme for Firefox 115ESR

Silverfox is a Mozilla Firefox 115ESR theme that mimics the look and feel of 2012 Google Chrome (or Chromium). Silverfox's project name is derived from chrome's silver color.

This project is not developed, approved or endorsed by Google!

Aero

*Supports native Aero on Windows 7 and Aero enabling software such as DWMBlurGlass on Windows 10/11.

*Support for WindowBlinds is as-is and is not going to be worked on.

Classic Blue

*Classic Blue can be toggled on all platforms. On Windows 7 Aero Basic and Classic mode, Classic Blue is the only option.

Conditional Looks

^ Native (GTK) theme. Linux only

^ Chrome OS theme. Linux only

^ Mac OS X native theme. Mac only

^ Windows 8 native theme (follows Windows's accent color). Windows 8 only

^ Windows 10/11 native theme. Windows 10/11 only

Silverfox Flags

Silverfox flags are settings you can toggle that tweak the look and feel of some Silverfox specific functions. You can access them either by navigating to about:flags, or by clicking the Hamburger/Wrench menu > Tools > Silverfox flags.

Unable to download in Pale Moon

You have this JS on your site which redirects Pale Moon browser users to this page.

If you don't "support old technologies" (Pale Moon receives updates regularly so it is not old), then wouldn't you want someone using an older browser to be able to download your browser?

Entire window shifts up when maximised + bar at bottom of bookmarks + no hamburger menu + can't download anything

When i double-click the top of the window the window goes from this:

I'm running MacOS Sonoma on a 13" M2 MacBook Pro for some information.
There's also this bar that stretches from one side of the screen to another and obstructs that part of the webpage.
Also there is no hamburger menu, just any extensions that i might be showing on the bar.
I also can't download anything, as nothing appears.

GUI buttons do not function correctly while using aero glass.

I am using Windows 10 22H2 with DWMBlurGlass for my Windows 7 aero theme and when I hover over a GUI button like the close button for example, the aero buttons do not light up and the GUI buttons behind them light up instead. I will say that already mentioned this in the Discord server but I created this issue in case you did not see it.

So for me when i install the native control patch, it just never works and i tried reinstalling firefox, refresh it, install it again but nothing works out. Is there a solution to fix it?

Hello,

In the first versions of Google Chrome, the interface was a lot bluer and the new tab button had a plus-sign on it.
Since I really liked that design, i wanted to ask if there are any plans to add it to Silverfox?

The native controls patch is still going strong

There's now a new maintainer for the Native Controls patch under kawapure. Would be nice to reintroduce the requirement and the needed options

Upon installing the required Native Support Patch, it just killed itself. It did in fact launch, yes, but it then said (upon downloading the correct patch, 115ESR patch) "xul.dll file does not support the current version
oldest supported version -> 115.8.0
maximum supported version -> 115.8.0"
Or something similar to it.

Unable to pin extensions

Is there any way to pin an extension in Silverfox?

Silverfox is unable to run its required JavaScript modules.

I have followed all instructions on the neocities page closely, and installed the native controls patch.
I am on Firefox ESR 115.11.0 and have tried 115.6.0 with no luck

Will there be a new version available for 128 ESR?

I have re-downloaded Silverfox three times now and installed the correct version of the Native Controls Patch and still it will not run the required JavaScript modules.
I have repeated the installation process thrice, paying extra attention to steps 2 and 4, following them exactly how they were displayed on the installation page and still I am experiencing problems.
I copied in the chrome folder and the user.js file into the proper profile folder, I cleared the startup cache using the button in about:support, and I installed the Native Controls Patch (at least the one that seems to work and stop giving me an error message, "ESR 115.12.0"), and I even tried restoring defaults. I'm still facing the same exact problem.
Is there anything I am unknowingly doing wrong? I am (assumedly) using the correct version, 115.6.0esr, which seems to switch over to being listed as 115.12.0esr when Silverfox is installed

they respond to me hovering over the normal caption buttons

Cant access extensions

Before this, I was able to access extensions on websites, but after the theme change, my pins were removed, and the extension menu wasnt there. I can still access the extension settings, but i cant pin anything. Maybe in the next update, can you fix this? Thank you.
