I just updated to Better Questing 1.0.15 and Standard Expansion 1.0.10 to test out the Ore Dictionary functionality. When I edited the item I had setup with my quest and tried to search for "wood" it crashed and I got this error:

Got a crash when I clicked auto sort on quest page, I didn't have any quest made so.. must of gotten a null error..

We have no Quest Lines setup, and one quest that was setup clicking Add New by me. When our quest maker is trying to add a quest line, quest, or exit through Done she disconnects from the server. I've looked through the fml-client-latest log and could not find anything erroring out, but didn't know if this was permission based, or a bug. We are running 1.0.18 and will try again with 1.0.19 when I finish the updates to the pack and make it live.
If this is permissions, is there a way to have the user get an error, and a way I can grant access through ForgeEssentials permission system?
Is it possible to make hidden tasks or set a Task as hidden? Now i can make hidden task only with hidden Quests which are completely invisible works as trigger(but you need to make the Quests extra). The better way is to put hidden tasks into the existing Quests to make some secret Quests.
Fail-deadly isn't a very good policy when dealing with save data. I'd suggest leaving the file alone, giving an error message, and not allowing the player to look at their quests at all (because they're invalid obviously) until they exit the game and fix the error.

I'ce tried adding some quests to a modpack of a friend to make the start easier. I got the Questline, Tasks and rewards shown as they should, however I can't make the description of the quests appear anywhere. I need them to explain the quests better, though...
I tried using your help book to find a command or something like that to make them appear on the quest page, but that book has only the register in it, the pages are empty....
I tried it on a MC build only using BQ and the BQ standart pack as well, still neither of the 2 things didn't worked...
Is there something I am mising?

I have a friend who wrote up some quests on their client and then sent me the quest database file so that I could take a look at them. Whenever I start or exit a SP game, it overwrites the questline quests to nothing. I can still see them in the database however.
I have been getting these Rendering screen crashes every now and then when I try to add a few new quests. I've already made like 50 other quests.

If I have Edit mod enabled on Server all People be in edit mode if OP, Admin or normal Player. Is this international or a Bug ?
Disappointing, as custom spell rewards from AM2 were one of my fave things to do with quest mod stuff.
Using the 1.7.10 version, since AM2 currently runs on that.
A Quest Book user reported issues with his game crashing (Drethic/QuestBook#8). While reviewing his log file (https://gist.github.com/Dream-Master/6076e110aad8a5527dd8e0ee1d078a9c) I saw several references to PacketQuesting.java which I don't currently leverage. Based on user response and what the logs (snippets: http://pastebin.com/9hjBWeLb) say the error seems to happen during HQM Imports.

Okay, how the hell do you get started with this mod? It's installed, along with standard questing pack. I can see a couple of loot chests in NEI, a block, and a few options on the config file. Not certain where to start or how a player interacts with it.
Edit: Okay, found the keybinds: GRAVE, MINUS, and EQUALS and can get to the editors. Now trying to figure out how the player is supposed to know there's quests. Doesn't seem to be a book or an item the player is given to hint to them there's something to do.
not sure if you know of this wierd bug after opening questing page and exiting i press a button and it it grabs that buttoon and re opens the quest page eg went to press w to walk forward and the w button was grabbed and i end up dying because i fewll off into void
I try to reload Quests on my Server (to get new Quests ) with Player progression Data in the Json file and it won't update. If I clear all player data I can reload it and get new Quests. Is this international too and I guess you fix will solve this problem?
I try today the new Version Better Questing Version 108 and load my Quest file. This works fine but if i try to edit the Quests (/bq_admin edit) all Quests are gone.
Every time when I open the Quest book and start a new Game I can see minimum two Quests the one I have to make and the next one. I suggest give us a option to hiding Quests from shown in the book if not open.( let's show only the active Quests and not the previous one) It would be nice also for some secret Quests to give us some trigger mechanism which open a new Chapter/quest only if you unlock them with a another Quests, Item in Hand, Coordinates Dims you walk etc. Before this Quest have to be hidden.

I have imported a json file from a previous pack we made and that went well but I want to delete some quests and I cant seem to see where to do that?
When we try to create a party and invite other players I see this in the server logs:

But I never get a notification saying I've been invited. And when I checked my party book there wasn't a notification. However, when I created my own party, kicked myself, closed and opened the party book I was in the party I was invited to.

This seems to happen any time we shut down based on the logs for the last few days.
From what I understand the player data is stored in the config folder mixed in with the default quest data.
I am begging you from a server owner standpoint to move all data that relates to players to the world folder, I love that it stores in json format, but even HQM had it right where it stored its data in the world folder so it would get backed up with the world backups and be in sync with it.
The most important reason for this is when you update a server you move the configs and mods folder out of the way and replace them with the new configs and mods folder, it isn't supposed to contain any data about the world or players.
Update Quest file on my Server (in the config folder) and default load command (bq_admin default load) reset Players progressions.
What i can do that this not happend?
I did claim the reward the first time, and I can't claim it again yet (because I need to finish the task again first).
I have a QuestDatabase.json in a save file from before the quest progress was kept in a separate file. Attempting to load that save wipes my questbook.
The DefaultQuests.json in the config directory has changed since that save file was made. Will I need to manually update my QuestDatabase.json before the progress will be imported properly?
I'm attempting to upgrade to 1.0.124, though this also occurred in 1.0.121 and a couple of versions prior to that. In Minecraft 1.7.10.
Much as I'd love to use this mod, I've been unable to find the information I need to do so. How do I open the quest editing GUI? What add-ons are available? Is there some stable API if I want to make an add-on myself?
Your forum thread and CurseForge page list all the features, but don't seem to say how to use them, and you don't have a Github wiki - have I missed the documentation, or is there not any?
I'm trying to learn your mod and created a retrieval task to get 1x Oak Wood (itemID 17). I have partialMatch = true and ignoreNBT = true. I had hoped harvesting a Birch Wood (itemID 17:2) would satisfy the requirement. Is there an option I am missing? If not can you add the ability to match to Ore Dictionary items?
Every time when I try to complete a Mob Hunt Quest it not give me the reward after I kill 5 Pigs for an example.
If I kill the sixth pig the reward bottom can be pushed. Same with auto claim you got the item one Kill later. The same is with Sheep's I tested it. For me it looks like the final Kill updates the Quest and complete it but without give me the reward.

This is not how these quests were arranged before. I was not in edit mode or anything. I completed one of the quests, then came back to the questbook and suddenly it was all rearranged like this. Only this chapter was affected.
A few minutes before this I tried to click on a quest and some kind of green line showed up attached to my cursor, like it was trying to let me link the quest to another one.
Could it have something to do with double-clicking at the wrong time? My mouse is dying so it sometimes double-clicks on a single click.
Our quest writer tried to assign a fluid to the Quest Icon via the Advanced tab and was had her client crash with this error log:

When I tried the same quest and editing the icon I was able to select Fluid, I picked one from the list, and clicked done. While it didn't take the icon, I did not get crashed out.
Upon loading back in our quest writer tried go from Object to Fluid in the Advanced menu and crashed a second time with this error:

I then tried to edit the icon from the placeholder to and Item. When I got in to select an item I tried to search for Nether to set it back to the nether star and it crashed with this error:

I made a quest party, but the other player on the server doesn't show up in the boxes when I click invite.
I've added 6 themes to the theme menu but the scroll bar on it doesn't seem to scroll down the list.. it doesn't move at all, i don't know if its just for viewing or its actually supposed to be functional.

I am playing the modpack ProjectOzone on a server. Last Update (Beta) includes BetterQuesting and there is my problem. After starting the server and client, connecting to the server and opening the questbook all seems ok. After completing the first quest, the client disconnects from the server.

I am playing the modpack ProjectOzone on a server. Last Update (Beta) includes BetterQuesting and there is my problem. After updating to the latest versions I can't claim rewards. I tried the following versions:
I can select the additional reward, this ist also shown in the small space. After selecting the additional reward the "Claim Button" seems pressable, but nothing happens.
In single player this works.
Can you help?

This is on the New Horizons modpack with the latest update that includes this mod.
With the newest Version of Better Questing 1.0.8.3 i get this crash when i click on items in NEI.

I am currently working with this mod to create a modpack, and I've noticed that deleting things (especially the default texts) is really tedious because I can't hold backspace to continue deleting. I have to press it for every character. I am just wondering if this is a feature already in the works or something and when you think it will be possible. Also, it would be nice to click and drag to highlight sections of text and delete them. I know that's a lot harder and it's not really necessary, just an idea.
If you have a full heart "Extra Life" in a chest, then shift-click a quarter heart into it, it stacks with the full heart. So it turns the quarter heart into a full heart. This also happens if you give yourself more quarter hearts via NEI- they stack with any full hearts present in your inventory.
I received a report that a user could not use a custom image for their quest GUI (Drethic/QuestBook#9). After setting everything up how the Wiki (https://github.com/Funwayguy/BetterQuesting/wiki/Resources) says to the image cannot be found. After some troubleshooting using any capital letters in the folders or image name will cause it to not be found.
Example: S:"Title Texture"=drethic:textures/gui/bq_title.png works, but Drethic:textures/gui/bq_title.png or drethic:textures/gui/BQ_title.png does not work.
I just thought of this because at the beginning of my map, you get to choose between magic, tech, building, and adventure, and I was thinking it'd be cool if I was able to change the theme of the quest screen based on which of the four people choose. Is this already possible or a feature you'd be willing to implement?
Can you please review an add-on I've made Quest Book and let me know if you approve it's release to Curse?
Also, I was looking the through the Party API and didn't see a way to hook notifications. I was going to setup the book to shimmer when a user got an invite. I know earlier you didn't want to inform the user due to risk of spamming, but would this be a viable option? If so, what would be the best way to listen for that event?

There seems to be an issue with the mod though, with comparing the NBT tag of a crafted item and trying to cast it to the list of appropriate NBT tags for that specific quest.
