Item spawning duplication
Only mod installed:
- RealisticItemDrops-1.2.12
Not a game breaking bug, but if you use the /give command it gives you the item and throws a duplicate into the world.
Changing the "Pickup Radius" setting in Config doesn't do anything
Still requires me to click on the object's shadow, regardless of the setting's value.
Please don't tell me I have to restart my game after changing the value for it to take effect.
Occasionally drops are white cubes that can't be picked up
Sometimes when an item is dropped it renders as a white cube. It usually happens when a lot of things are dropped at the same time.
Dupe Bug
A bug with Realistic Item Drops in 1.11.2 version 1.1.13 with Veinminer 0.38.1 causes "Veinmined" blocks to drop 2x of what was mined. I assume issue persists with next version since there is no mention of a fix
Update: Bug is not present in 1.1.10
Items get voided inconsistently when dropped in bulk
Bug Report:
When dropped in large bulks, items seem to get voided/be not retaining the same quantity when picked up. This badly affects in-world automation setups. (Actually Additions Atomic Reconstructor, AE2 crystal growth, et cetera)
The bug is inconsistent, and doesn't seem to be reproducible all times.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Give yourself ten stacks of something
- Put them in a chest
- Break the chest
- Notice the lack of several stacks of items

[Suggestion] Gamestages Support
To put it simply, a method of configuring whether or not a player can automatically pick up an item or needs to right click it using a custom Gamestages gamestage.
This would be incredibly useful and be great for making early game tough whilst being less tedious late game, or inverted even...
Please don't cancel/deny EntityJoinWorldEvent
Cancelling the event causes world.spawnEntity to return false. Many mods check this and won't delete the source item in mechanical droppers - so this causes an infinite dupe bug.
[1.11.2] Item Doubling with BWM
On the 1.11.2 version, when Realistic Item Drops is in with Better With Mods, all obtained items (dropped when a block is broken or mob gets killed) are duplicated. I didn't know on which mod's GitHub to post this issue, but as this one has a lot to do with item drops, I chose this one.
Mod interaction peculiarity between RealisticItemDrops and Immersive Engineering
Right, so. Immersive Engineering has conveyor belts. More pertinently, Immersive Engineering has covered conveyor belts that prevent you from picking up items that are currently on them while you are standing next to or on the belt.
A while back, there was an issue where during the brief moment immediately a machine inserted an item into a covered conveyor belt, the item could be picked up if you were adjacent to said belt. That problem was eventually addressed here.
Now as it happens, it turns out that Realistic Item Drops, when the config is set to "Auto Pickup"=true, breaks things again, such that if you were to stand next to a belt as you toss an item into the hopper, it ends up right back into your inventory.
Pictured: essentially the same configuration as mentioned in the above linked issue.
Since this problem doesn't occur without RealisticItemDrops present, I figured I should bring the problem to you first.
Tested with immersive engineering 0.12-84, realistic item drops 1.2.12, and forge 2705. No other mods present.
Trying to delete items on server.
I have been trying to clear all dropped items on my server I am running, as one of my players dropped too many items from a sieve and now whenever he logs on it crashes the server. How can I clear all the items.
[1.12.2] Conflict with Goldfish mod
The Goldfish mod requires players to throw the goldfish into a large enough area of water; however, this cannot occur because of the floating items mechanic. Sure that mechanic can be turned off, but that's the main reason why I wanted to use this mod in the first place.
As it is, I cannot use this mod and the Goldfish mod without turning off the floating items. A suggestion to the solution would be to have a blacklist and whitelist in the config file that items can be added to.
Great mod and thank you for your time and effort spent on it.
Cannot pick up TiC tools when dropped; render as normal vanilla item
When I die with my tinkers tools, everything but the tools are able to be picked up. They are also rendered normally as a vanilla item, and for some reason cannot be picked up unless I force pick them up like with a thermal innovation creative magnet. THis is very tedious and annoying and I feel that maybe it has to do with the fat that tools are immune to lava (jump right out of lava regardless of the tool, completely avoiding it like an entity?) You might need to ask @KnightMiner about this when trying to fix it, but it is very annoying atm.

Applied Energestics Formation Plane doesn't work
Here is a simple scheme for an example. I just put items in the chest and it doesn't DROP them, but if i set the placement mode, it actually works. Does anybody know what is wrong? Maybe bug? Or i just don't understand something.

Duplication bug when using Applied Energistics Formation Plane
When the AE2 formation plane is set to drop items in the world you can dupe any item that the formation plane attempts to drop in the world. My understanding of this is original drop event is canceled and AE2 doesn't think the items were dropped. Instead of potentially deleting items it returns the items to the system. I started looking into this because it was reported on the SevTech issue tracker. This can be reproduced with just AE2 and Realistic Item Drops.
This was already reported to AE2 and they closed the issue as they have this mechanic to prevent potentially deleting a players entire storage system. Is there a way to intercept the item drop event and report back to AE2 that the drop was successful?

[Request] Answer is probably no, but still free to ask
We are running a quite big mod pack created by ourselves and uses your mod in it. So far everything works fine until Sponge Forge changed it's behaviour.
The problem we're encountering is with the EnderIO mod. In order to craft basically every machines and items you'll need 'Grains of Infinity'. These are created by using Flint & Steel on Bedrock which has a configurable percentage change to spawn a "Grain of Infinity' via EnderIO's TickEventHandler.
It did work well before but since the changes in Sponge Forge the 'Grains' are not spawning anymore and throw an error in the server console. It seems like it only affects TickEvent spawns because the BlockBreak event items just spawn as intended. After a lot of testing I've narrowed it down to your mod who's causing this issue.
All I want to ask is if you are willing to make a blacklist so we can add the 'Grains of Infinity' to the blacklist and let them spawn as a normal EntityItem so Sponge Forge is not deleting it upon creation?

Tinkers Tools and armors when dropped turn into sticks
Playing on the Realm of Mazara pack
I was continuisly experiencing an issue of loosing my tinkers tools and getting a random stick armors
I looked into it, and only removed Realistic Item Drops
After removing the mod the issue was gone

Item Entities no longer spawn
I've encountered an odd issue, that seems to be caused by this mod. When running this mod on my server, at some point the following errors are logged to the server:

These errors are accompanied by the removal of all item entities on the server. Blocks no longer drop items and items dropped by players are deleted. I have yet to find a way to solve this: the world simply no longer spawns item entities.
This has occurred twice now, and the lack of item drops persists even when the mod has been deleted from the server and client.
There is one other mod outputting an error in that chain (Grappling Hook mod by yyonne), but removing that mod also has no affect on the presence of item drops, and that mod does not alter the item entity in a way that could cause this, to my knowledge. I have also contacted yyonne about this issue, just in case.

TerraFirmaCraft Incompatibility
When I use the mod with TerraFirmaCraft mod, I can't take the items from ground. Items just lay on the ground.
Very janky
As the title says. Usually you're just not able to pick up items without having to move your mouse around, and sometimes you just can't pick them up in water at all. Turning up the radius doesn't help this, either.
Picking up items with right click sometimes doesn't seem to work?
Its an really spotty feature for me... i had reach configured to 3 and accuracy to 0.4 but still was unable to pick up items >10% of the time (floating items are even worse for me). i try to mash right click while slowly moving the crosshair over the item on the ground but it just doesn't pick up, sometimes walking to the other side of the item seems to work. its really weird. gonna try increasing the distance to 6 and the accuracy to 1 to see if that helps... will report back.
Can't Pick Up Items

I am new to modding. I am running this mod within a custom based modpack. Everything works fine for the most part, however, in the config I have set items to be automatically picked up. For some reason it still doesn't work when changing it. Any suggestions?

Old item drop not fully working

Little bug to signal here: using the "old item drop true" doesn't work quite properly
Mobs, loot and stuff keep dropping flat... well weird flat at that (they float above ground but horizontal instead of vertical like normal)
It's not game breaking, but it's a bit strange to see, and it does make some items hard to spot sometimes with the grass
[Suggestion] add fluid blacklist/whitelist config option
I love playing with this mod. The floating items are a nice touch. However, this feature causes some items to float in liquid starlight, which is problematic for some of the recipes in Astral Sorcery. For example, dynamism gems require glowstone dust, which just floats on the surface instead of interacting with the recipe. It's not a dealbreaker, as there are ways to engineer a solution to this setback, but perhaps you could look into a way to blacklist certain items or fluids from interacting in this way?
Compatability issue with Immersive Engineering
Been working on a modpack with this and a number of other realism mods. Part of it is Immersive Engineering. However, IE uses conveyor belts to move items around and through machines. When I tossed an item down onto a belt it changed into the version created by your mod and did not move.
Any chance this can be fixed? I love the level of realism and control this mod adds.
Item Spawning Duplication
Spawning an item in from JEI will also throw that item onto the ground. Spawning in a stack of items will only throw one of that item on the ground however.
This issue also occurs when using the /give command directly from the chat.
Very Inconsistent
I can be clicking like crazy on an item most of the time and it won't let me pick it up without me having to move around until I'm able to. And yes it's within my reach and I even increased the radius. And I'm not able to pick items from water at all.

Possible lag issue?
So I was using lag goggles to try and find the source of some lag I was experiencing while testing a large'ish modpack. After profiling, it claimed that RealisticItemDrops was eating up the most resources. I was testing in singleplayer in a newly generated world, so it's likely there were some random items laying about from worldgen breaking leaves and plants, but it still seemed odd. So I went ahead and disabled RID temporarily and restarted. Sure enough, the reported resource usage disappeared. I'm using all default settings in RealisticItemDrops, except I enabled Auto Pickup. Could auto pickup be spamming checking if players are nearby or something?

Hello sir.
First of all this is again a very awesome mod you made great job :)
What do you think about a little ItemHolo when you hover over the Item on the ground. That would make it even more easyer to find what we want to pickup.

Compatability issue with Thaumcraft
This affects the most recent version of both Thaumcraft and this mod.
The bug itself is that the Crucible will always turn items into essentia, even if it should give an output upon said item being thrown in.

Removing this mod fixes it of course.
Fishing does not reel in items properly
Due to the physics based nature of the mod, items won't simply float to the user when reeling in loot and instead plop down in the water next to the bobber.

No matter what I set the mod to, items are rendering like on vanilla.
I know the mod is loaded because I can access the options in-game but it doesn't actually have any effect.
