not-a-wiki's Issues

Move large scripts / style sheets to their own files

I'm noticing that certain pages, such as Spells/index.php, contain relatively sizeable javascript sections which should be moved to their own files for the sake of maintaining the single purpose principle and keeping files smaller and easier to read.

Convert entire site to Jekyll/Liquid template system

As per the discussion on Discord in #not-a-wiki-development, I volunteered to try my hand at converting the n-a-w website from what it is now (HTML with a sprinkle of PHP) to Jekyll with the Liquid template engine.

My plan is to:

  • Get the website working in Jekyll/Liquid
  • Remove outdated/unused stuff
  • Move most (if not all) hardcoded lists to config files to make it more dynamic (like top and left navbar)
  • Sanitize the HTML to current standards
  • Sanitize the CSS/JS to linked files instead of inline code
  • Convert every page to Markdown (optional, since HTML works too)

I forked the repo and will put progress up at http://merijn.nu/realm/
Currently the website works and most of the hardcoded lists are converted. I'm open to suggestions and improvements beyond the above list.
The conversion from HTML to Markdown is optional and the last step, but it would probably help contributors a lot - since Markdown is a lot cleaner than raw HTML.

A tip for ceremonial dagger artifact to add

For the ceremonial dagger, there are 2 options which can help getting it without deactivating gifts or making a mistake somewhere:Disable background clicks and Disable non-manual clicks.Would be good to add them as tips

Spells page could use some clarity on how tiers work

The spell tiers section should have some explanation of how the spells' bonuses compound with tiers, the exception for gem grinder, and some note that peripheral effects like fairy choir are not increased.
It might also be worthwhile to note that some tiers have extra effects.

A410 is completely useless to R46 S400 Buff Build

About 2 months ago 2a2ed65, the S400 Buff Build was updated, changing D245->D320, E1->E80, and A330->A410. The first two changes are good (although E1 vs. E80 is almost either/or), but the third? Once the Drow upgrade is purchased, and Goblinline lost, nothing else is getting built and all production upgrades become useless.

And A410 is Drow only.

The correct choice is either A105 as Patashu later suggested, restoring A330, or, since it's entirely possible to reach 5959 Banks without it, A305 for extra faction coins.
