Encoding/Decoding Programming Challenge

Library with sample encoding and decoding functions based on ALG-C (LZ77).

To use

Set nightly: (required by datatest crate):

rustup override set nightly

Build and run binary with custom input:

cargo run <input>

Run library correctness and efficiency tests:

cargo test --test integration -- --color always --nocapture

You can modify the search buffer and lookahead windows in the global variables at the top of tests/lib.rs. Runtime on the large test data is reasonably slow. Consider the performance on the E. Coli genome, which is 4.6 MB: (tests/data/large/E.coli)
