geerc.github.io's Issues

body paragraph

"as fart" -delete "t"

"For example, if you your shins" -delete "you"

I suggest you add a "," after "During this past summer" in third paragraph

Maybe you can add more about comparison of the inconvenience if we don't have that website.

Small Issue in About Me

In the first paragraph of your about me section you spelled interests at "interessts." Easy fix

GPS Quick Fixes

Just a few quick fixes for your latest edit 1a1fa38

First Paragraph

  • First sentence, "as" should be "has"
  • Second sentence, "from Point A to point B the most efficient..." I'd place "in" between the words "B" and "the" to say "Point B in the most efficient..."

Second Paragraph

  • Third sentence, I'd edit the last part of the sentence to something like "but GPS has changed our reliance on this" or "but the advent of GPS has changed all this."
  • Fifth sentence, participles don't agree, you said "we don't remember as much" but then "the trip they just took." I'd make sure that these agree with each other.
  • Sixth sentence, you probably meant "this inability to navigate without the use of GPS..." Also, make sure that you fix the section "if someone only knows the route the they repeat day in and day out..."

Nice job staying focused and sticking to the topic, I look forward to revising the rest for you.

Plagiarism Article Suggestions

Good start on this article, but I've got a few edits or suggestions that you may want to consider to improve this article:

Paragraph I:

  • The first sentence is fairly long and a bit hard to digest. Maybe consider splitting up the points that plagiarism is a growing issue and that nobody is active about preventing it.
  • The pronoun and antecedents in the first paragraph don't match (very few people would be able to say that they, or someone that they know, is in the process...). You could change the "they"s to "he or she" and leave the "is" or you could somehow reword the middle section "or someone they know" to something that would allow "someone" to be plural so that "is" could be replaced with "are."
  • I'd combine the next 2 sentences that begin with "almost" with a semicolon: "dealing with those who plagiarize; everywhere you..." I think that this flows better.
  • In the morality sentence I'd reword some things to make it sound smoother. "From the moral side..." could be changes to something like "In regards to morality..." and "thus relying on the good morals" could be changes to something along the lines of "thus trusting that students maintain good moral standing" to make it smoother. Also remove the "and" in the middle of that sentence because the second half is a dependent clause needing no conjuction. The edit would be "implementing honor codes, thus relying..."
  • In the last sentence, you'd be better off with a semicolon in one spot than a two commas: the edit would be "approaches may seem logical, neither one is perfect; rather, both..." because rather is a conjunction.

Paragraph II:

  • In the second sentence I'd change the section "there are many other issues that work against the honor code" to highlight the fact that the issue is exploitability. The rules that are set by an honor code open up avenues for cheating that aren't possible with laws. I'd reword it to something such as "there are many other issues that arise because of the exploitability of the honor code in play."
  • I'd split up the sentence that begins with "This becomes an issue..." Remove the conjuction but and stop the first sentence there and then make a new sentence starting with "Not everyone would be willing..." I think it flows better and, like I mentioned above, makes the sentence more digestable by not throwing too much information at the audience at once.

Great start on this article, I look forward to editing the rest.
