Verify Server Running

I am having difficulty independently connecting to your server running on vcm-7506.vm.duke.edu. Would you please verify that it is active. And is it using port 5000? I admit it could be a problem on my end, but I just wanted to check to make sure that the VCM didn't automatically shut down this morning. Did you deactivate the automatic shutdown? Thanks.

user download specification

Do we have to let the user choose which type to download (jpeg, png, etc.) or download the type which they update?

Yes, the user should be able to specify the format that they want the downloaded image in, and your program should do that conversion for the user.

Do we have to show the histogram in any case or the processing type they choose?

The histogram processing should be an available option that the user can choose and have displayed by your program.

make sure that if this repo is intended to be what you use for your final project, then it needs to be named bme590final to get captured by our processing scripts

Converting jpeg to png/tif

I'm wondering if there is a valid way to convert jpeg type images to png or tiff types? We tried several ways but the result is that we can only see the pictures with several apps but they broke down when we opened them with photoshop.
