Long words cause horizontal scrolling on narrow screens

Headings should have an id attribute to allowing linking to specific parts of pages

This will require hooking into the markdown renderer and there will be a need a way to generate a valid value from the heading. Care also needs to be taken to avoid having duplicate ids. To be useful, there will need to be an easy way for the user to easily copy the URL of the page with the appropriate fragment at each heading. It might be desirable to extend this to paragraphs as well.

Automated link checking

Use environment variables to set site URL for staging deploys

The baseUrl defined in _data/metadata.json is hard-coded to "https://averylarsen.com". For local development and staging deploys, this results in the incorrect URL being used for features that require an absolute address, such as RSS. Eleventy supports using JavaScript files for data. It should be possible to use this to grab an environment variable to set the baseUrl at build time.

Increase spacing between items in post list

The titles of posts in the list are too close together making it difficult to accurately tap the intended link on mobile.

WCAG 2.1 specifies a target size of 44 px by 44 px.

Post titles are not properly escaped

A post with:

Implement Webmentions

Webmention is a web standard for mentions and conversations across the web, a powerful building block that is used for a growing federated network of comments, likes, reposts, and other rich interactions across the decentralized social web.

Check for accessibility issues

There aren't currently any accessibility issues reported by https://wave.webaim.org, but an automated check at build time would be preferable instead of manual review.

While the site may be accessible on a technical level, further research should be done on accessibility best practices.

Add favicon

Test with old browsers and non-traditional browsers

The website should maintain a reasonable amount of compatibility and functionality with old and non-traditional browsers. An automated system would be ideal.
