Development

Localization

Django uses GNU Gettext for localization. In order to generate localization files, you will need to install gettext on your computer.

OS X

brew install gettext

Ubuntu/Debian Linux

sudo apt-get install gettext

Windows

Download a precompiled gettext binary.

PostGIS

This project relies on PostGIS. You can install PostGIS locally using Docker. Run the following command in this project root.

docker-compose up

Report description field

It may be useful for people to include a description or other information along with their report.

Number of cases

It may be useful to allow a person to submit the form once for multiple cases. If this is desirable, we can include a "number of cases" field on the report form.

Offline support

It may also be useful to offer offline support or sort of PWA capability for people who have spotty internet connection.
