grav-theme-landio's Introduction

Landio Theme for Grav

Landio

Landio is a responsive HTML template, built on top of Bootstrap 4 and based on the Land.io Sketch design by Peter Finlan. This template and the UI kit were coded by Taty Grassini.

Built on:

  • Bootstrap 4
  • Icomoon
  • Power of GRAV

Features:

  • Admin plugin support with customizable user area
  • VideoJS
  • Testimonials layout
  • HTML5 and CSS3
  • Fully Responsive
  • Attractive and modern design
  • Various templates for presenting your content

Installation

Installing the Landio theme can be done in one of two ways. Our GPM (Grav Package Manager) installation method enables you to quickly and easily install the theme with a simple terminal command, while the manual method enables you to do so via a zip file.

The theme by itself is useful, but you may have an easier time getting up and running by installing a skeleton. The Landio Site Skeleton is a self-contained repository for a complete sites which includes: sample content, configuration, theme, and plugins.

GPM Installation (Preferred)

The simplest way to install this theme is via the Grav Package Manager (GPM) through your system's Terminal (also called the command line). From the root of your Grav install type:

bin/gpm install landio

This will install the Landio theme into your /user/themes directory within Grav. Its files can be found under /your/site/grav/user/themes/landio.

Manual Installation

To install this theme, just download the zip version of this repository and unzip it under /your/site/grav/user/themes. Then, rename the folder to landio. You can find these files either on GitHub or via GetGrav.org.

You should now have all the theme files under

/your/site/grav/user/themes/landio

NOTE: This theme is a modular component for Grav which requires the Grav, Error and Problems plugins.

Updating

As development for the Landio theme continues, new versions may become available that add additional features and functionality, improve compatibility with newer Grav releases, and generally provide a better user experience. Updating Landio is easy, and can be done through Grav's GPM system, as well as manually.

GPM Update (Preferred)

The simplest way to update this theme is via the Grav Package Manager (GPM). You can do this with this by navigating to the root directory of your Grav install using your system's Terminal (also called command line) and typing the following:

bin/gpm update landio

This command will check your Grav install to see if your Landio theme is due for an update. If a newer release is found, you will be asked whether or not you wish to update. To continue, type y and hit enter. The theme will automatically update and clear Grav's cache.

Manual Update

Manually updating Landio is pretty simple. Here is what you will need to do to get this done:

  • Delete the your/site/user/themes/landio directory.
  • Download the new version of the Landio theme from either GitHub or GetGrav.org.
  • Unzip the zip file in your/site/user/themes and rename the resulting folder to landio.
  • Clear the Grav cache. The simplest way to do this is by going to the root Grav directory in terminal and typing bin/grav clear-cache.

Note: Any changes you have made to any of the files listed under this directory will also be removed and replaced by the new set. Any files located elsewhere (for example a YAML settings file placed in user/config/themes) will remain intact.

Setup

If you want to set Landio as the default theme, you can do so by following these steps:

  • Navigate to /your/site/grav/user/config.
  • Open the system.yaml file.
  • Change the theme: setting to theme: landio.
  • Save your changes.
  • Clear the Grav cache. The simplest way to do this is by going to the root Grav directory in Terminal and typing bin/grav clear-cache.

Once this is done, you should be able to see the new theme on the frontend. Keep in mind any customizations made to the previous theme will not be reflected as all of the theme and templating information is now being pulled from the landio folder.

Usage

To customize Land.io footer, header, topbar and social counts open example configuration file from Land.io skeleton. You can customize each section to fit your needs.

grav-theme-landio's Issues

Icomoon ?

Hi,
I saw that you use icomoon, but I would like to know why you don't provide all icomoon 490 free icons ?
Thanks by advance
Pierre-Yves

skeleton admin login not working correctly

After I login, I get constantly redirected to {sitename}/user-login

in /user/config/plugins/login.yaml the default
route: /user-login
prevents the admin panel from loading.

Commenting it out, allows the admin login console to appear as expected.

Instructions for javascript development

hey, can you please give some instructions - what's the best way to organize javascript development for this theme?
I can do scss --watch scss:css --style compressed for styles modifications.
but what can I use to rebuild landio.min.js when I've added some extra plugins? I see code like this: // @codekit-prepend "plugins/jquery.placeholder.js"; but I don't have codekit.

Modular nav doesn't work when title is changed

Hi !

It seems the modular templates hardcode section ids while the nav generates links using the page title.
This means the one page navigation breaks when page menu string is not the same than the hardcoded id.

In templates/modulars/news.html.twig :

<section id="news" class="section-news">

In intemplates/partials/navigation.html.twig` :

<a class="nav-link" href="#{{ _self.pageLinkName(module.menu) }}">{{ module.menu }}</a>

include a article list/blog template

New Feature Request:

I was hooked on grav the instant I saw this theme. But as a noob, I'm struggling a bit since this seems to be a "single page" template and not one that is flexible enough, e.g. I don't see how to display articles cleanly.

In addition to a modular homepage, it would be valuable to add a menu that would produce a list of articles and/or be able to link to individual articles without the massive header image from the home page, e.g. simple details pages that are linked from the homepage or a blog listing.

Would you be willing to expand the template to include another template that includes a article with a reduced header and an article listing that displays just the titles and slugs?

how to change the icon-logo to myself icon

when i want to change the [icon-logo],but i can't find where to replace ,can you tell me where?

<span class="icon-logo"></span>
I am find it in landio.scss,but there is no icon's url
.icon-logo { font-size: 45px; }

login template variable name

in /user/themes/landio/templates/partials/login-form.html.twig and in /user/themes/landio/templates/partials/navigation.html.twig the variable {{ 'LOGIN_PLUGIN.BTN_LOGIN'|t }} is used, but I believe it should be: {{ 'PLUGIN_LOGIN.BTN_LOGIN'|t }}

smooth scrolling

It would be good to incorporate a smooth scrolling when clicking on a link to a section. A single CSS rule would do this job, since this theme is focused in modern browsers:

html {
  scroll-behavior: smooth;
}

"default" page layout mis-aligned @ < 768px

If you shrink the page down to below 768px, the "section" content in "default" page floats all the way to the top because its position is no longer relative to the navigation bar. I believe this is because the "section" top padding is too small @ this width.

This is the second issue I've found with the default page. Is this page type just something this theme doesn't want to support? (The module home page type seems to work very well)

Email address validation is broken

When entering an invalid email address, there is no validator popup (unlike when it is left email) and the form allows submission but throws a server error:

Server Error
Sorry, something went terribly wrong!

0 - Address in mailbox given [XYZ] does not comply with RFC 2822, 3.6.2.
For further details please review your logs/ folder, or enable displaying of errors in your system configuration.

I've ensured that I have updated to the latest Grav and plugin versions, and I haven't been able to replicate this on a vanilla Grav install + the Form plugin.

Repo dead?

Is this repo dead? There are still a few of us out there that use it. Any chance we can get some attention to the issues and pull requests?
