Starting point to control other apps on windows 10

For controlling home automation things, the respective libraries for e.g. Philips hue or a dedicated home automation app can be used.

However, for controlling other applications, things have changed in windows 8 / windows 10.

Previously, apps like AutoIt and pywinauto provided functionality to do that but unfortunately their traditional approach doesn't work anymore for Windows Store / UWP applications (stackoverflow and github issues in the links).

It seems that Microsoft UI Automation can be used for that. Here is a blog post describing how to connect to the Edge browser for example.

Also, the UI Automation branches of TestStack.White and pywinauto seem interesting.

Pairing with Win10

Anything I need to know to be able to pair my PC?
Win 10, BT enabled, PC recognizes Nuimo yet pairing does not work.
