dotfiles's Issues

Get away from MacVim

right now I'm using MacVim in the terminal, which seems dumb. The only reason I'm using it is for clipboard support and I'm like 99% sure I can just get that by passing a flag to brew install.

Using MacVim in the terminal as my default editor also causes a fair number of issues because you can't set $EDITOR to mvim -v in zsh.

mbsync freaks out about my FastMail remote folders even though it's working

Error: channel FastMail-Drafts: master INBOX/Drafts cannot be opened.
Error: channel FastMail-Sent: master INBOX/Sent Items cannot be opened.
Error: channel FastMail-Archive: master INBOX/Archive cannot be opened.
Error: channel FastMail-Vault: master INBOX/Vault cannot be opened.

every fucking time.

Add current Xcode information to tux status bar

Right now, I'm adding BETA to my RPROMPT if have used xcode-select to set the Xcode command line tools to a different version, but it'd be really nice to have better output in a persistent state. Ideally, something like Xcode 7.0 would probably be best.

Install Ruby as part of the setup process

This is a big hole in the setup process. It'd be nice to be able to determine what version of Ruby chruby expects, and then use ruby-install to make sure it's installed automatically. Not sure if there's a super easy way to do this that I'm not aware of.

Make Brewfile dynamic

the new brewfile format is, I believe, a ruby file. So it might be possible to write it in a way where I can have tag-specific brewfiles and source them all into a central brewfile to use with brew bundle

Add launch agents

I want to run mailrun.sh every 5 mins, and I want to make sure gpg-agent is started at login. It'd be nice to keep those in here so that I can keep track of them easier.

in other words, yes I did forget to back them up when I just reformatted my machine.
