tutorials's Introduction

GIS • OPS Tutorials

HERE Isoline Routing in Istanbul

This is the repository for our tutorials and posts on gis-ops.com.

We ❤️ open source, so we chose to open our tutorials as well, which has some nice side effects:

  • Contributions from external users via Pull Requests help to keep the tutorials updated
  • Write and deploy posts and tutorials from the comfort of our favorite IDE and git client

If you find the idea interesting and you're also hosting a WordPress blog, you can install our Wordpress plugin Markdown Github.

Contributions

If you find issues in our posts or tutorials, please either file an issue or, even better, provide a PR against the master branch with some explanatory resources.

tutorials's Issues

[QUESTION] select by bbox

Hi!
I'm following your tutorials, this one and the next about postgrest and postgis, and got kind of stuck with a simple query.

I plan to add hiking routes to the geom table, and would like to retrieve/select them by bounding box. The examples given in the tutorial are all of them calculations, but I guess a simple select (with postgrest api) could be done without creating a postgres function. Is this possible?

Thanks for your help and for the tutorials, they are really helpful :)

fatal: cannot create directory at 'general/aux': Invalid argument

I cannot clone the directory due to the following, spurious error.
On

git restore --staged .
git add general/aux
git add news/ #this also gave an error?
git commit -m "random message"
git reset --hard

this was resolved, but this is of course by far a sub-optimal solution.

Build and deploy with mkdocs on Github Pages

I think it'd be worth the effort bcs:

  • much nicer to look at than our home-baked stuff in Wordpress
  • much faster to render
  • much easier to maintain, I could ditch that WordPress plugin possibly

One clear disadvantage will be that we "lose track" of visited pages. Not that we're obsessing over those stats, but they are very useful.

Some inquiries about the plugin :qGis-Valhalla

Hello, I am very interested in your qgis plugin, and now I have a new requirement: when routing, can I select a starting point and multiple destination points, and then generate multiple paths;
If the current plug-in version can realize this function, can you guide how to do it? If this function cannot be realized at present, I need to carry out secondary development on the basis of the original plug-in. Can you provide some solutions and source code modification and Guidance?
I look forward to your answer very much. If possible, I hope to establish long-term communication with you and learn morn about this plugin.
