My GL-AR750 came with an old web ui installed.

How do I update to the new UI?

Frozen GL-AR750S-EXT

The device is frozen on 2G. The 2G light is solid and if I try to reset the device it does not reset. If I unplug it from power and attempt power it back on no lights turn on. In order to get the 2G light to turn on I have to before plugging it into power hold down the reset button. The 5G flashes a few times but then the solid 2G light turns on. Any ideas? If I plug into a switch and I am logged into my router it kills the connection so I dont know what IP address it has. What are the options to fix it if possible?

Typo and possible slight inaccuracy with "Debrick" page

Two issues:

Step 3:

"You MUST obey the first and then procedure"

There is a grammatical error in there. It's a little hard to figure out exactly what this is even saying, but I assume it means "You MUST obey each step before continuing to the next".

Step 5:

"Release your finger when you see the LED has flashed...5 times...B1300"

I can't speak for any other model, but this detail does not match my own experience with the B1300. I just bought one and flashed custom firmware using U-Boot.

I held onto the reset button and plugged in the device, as instructed. What I saw was that the leftmost LED stayed on the whole time. The rightmost LED flashed only 4 times, after which the middle LED turned on and stayed on.

I let go of the restart button at this point, and it turns out this successfully puts the device into U-Boot mode.

File Sharing: Which file systems are supported?

says nothing about which file systems are supported and how performant on what hardware.

As a Mac user I would like to know whether I could attach a HFS+ disk to one of your wireless AC routers and use it as a network attached storage (NAS) and whether Mac metadata (tags, comments, all timestamps (creation, modification, last viewed, added to folder on), extended attributes like "downloaded from") are properly preserved (if on a real HFS+ disk or a Linux filesystem such as ext4) if the file sharing happens via SMB, as Apple now favors SMB over AFS as of circa 2016.

Unable to add WireGuard profile

Hello,

I have a MT300N-V2 and I'm unable to add a manual WireGuard profile. The only thing I'm seeing on my WireGuard Client page is azirevpn and Mullvad. If I click on the bottom where it says Setup WireGuard Manually it comes up with another page that has providers with a pulldown menu and it only shows the two providers mentioned above. Am I doing something wrong? I'm trying to setup WireGuard with VPN Unlimited.

Can someoen explain "Internet Kill Switch"?

The description sounds very ambiguous to me, could some please help me understand?

Here is the original description of this menu:

Note: with this option enabled, the router's clients must access the Internet through VPN. If the router is not configured with VPN, the router's clients will not be able to access the network.

What does it mean saying that if the router is not configured with VPN? I am using the router as a VPN client, will that work?
Or does this mean I need to access the router via a VPN client, meaning the router must be the VPN server?

Internet via GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 is very slow

Hi,

My internet speed is around 250 Mbps when connected directly to the router.
When connected via GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 the internet speeds are below 5 Mbps. When connected to VPN the speeds are below 2 Mbps. I have configured LAN.
Please advise how to fix the issue.

Can mini smart router be an Ethernet router ?

At first, sorry for my bad english and knowledge about all the stuff here :)

I've bought a mini smart router in order of connecting my non-WIFI screen to my box. I want to connect the mini smart router to the box using WIFI (done, I think it works), then connecting the screen by ethernet (doesn't work).
Is the mini smart router is able to do that, and if yes, how :)

AR750S (Slate) - Version 3.022 Release?

I was wondering if you could tell me when v3.022 will be released?

I have just purchased the AR750S and have to say it's a pretty awesome piece of kit but I am in dire need for the 'Captive Portal' update in this above version.

Easy tether documentation

The entry for auto connection easytether does not work, the script errors out with "/etc/config/easytether: line 4: syntax error: unexpected "else" "

Of course I am not too familiar with bash scripting, but I was able to get it to work by putting an echo before the else.

edit: After doing a bit of searching seems like it needs the the noop : to work without any operation done

Can Chinese encoding GBK and Unicode be supported

Many routers on the market still support GBK. This kind of router is set with Chinese SSID, which leads to garbled code and can't be relayed. I hope it can support Chinese GBK and other codes

What is the maximum length for the admin password?

The reason I am asking is because I don'T use passwords but pass phrases and the router accepted my 5-words-long pass phrase but seems to have a maximum length as I couldn't login with that password later on so apparently the password gets cut off after a certain length.

[Feature Request] Offline PDF Documentation

Hello!

I was looking for a downloadable full documentation manual for my travel router, so I can have it downloaded in my device prior to connecting a hotel or public network. Currently I would need a internet connection to be able to browse documentation, and that connection should be provided only by the travel router (let's say we want a VPN configuration active).

I think the Github pipeline can be used to generate the Documentation as PDF in Release Artifacts. There are tools that convert Markdown in GitHub to HTML/PDF that may be used to automate the conversion in GitLab. (Sorry not to be more specific on GitHub procedures, I only have experience automating things in GitLab pipelines)
