Feature request: use "channels" to show what's currently on

Android TV apps can use channels to expose content on the home screen. Would it be possible to add the 3 live tv streams to the default NUPlayer channel? This would both serve as a shortcut the the respective stream and make it possible to show what's currently playing on those streams.

In addition, a small question about NUPlayer: is there a way to see the resolution and bitrate of the stream that's currently playing (e.g., using the developer options)? Does NUPlayer make use of the higher resolution streams that are mentioned in the changelog of the vrtNU app?

Thanks for creating this app! If you need any help testing stuff, I have a chromecast with google tv.

Some minor possible improvements

First of all, thanks a lot for creating this awesome app. It works fine and incredibly fast on Proximus' Android TV decoder (v7).

A few improvements that would make the experience even better:

• When I press the 'stop' button, the episode stops but the screen stays black until I use the 'back' button.
• It's not possible to rewind or fast forward with the buttons on the remote. It does work if I select the rewind or fast forward icons on the screen.
• When I pause and resume an episode, the overlay stays visible until the 'back' button is pressed.

That's it.

Movies section

Maybe add a "Movies" section next to the "Series"?

Replay an episode

When you want to watch an episode again, it's almost impossible to restart it.
After starting, you have to push rewind within 0.5 seconds. Otherwise it just stops, because the watch bar is at the end.

Maybe, when starting an episode, and there are just 5-10 seconds remaining, start it from the beginning.

Resume points / favorites / watch later broken

VRT did an update on the cookies / tokens they use, this breaks at least resume points, favorites and watch later.

The error that is printed is "Could not download VRT.NU favorites : 401 Unauthorized".

Fix to be expected by the end of the week normally.

NUPlayer 1.2.0 : watching live, always starts at -15 minutes

When watching live streams, it's not the live stream, but -15 minutes.
I can fast forward to the point where it's "live" again. Looks like it stars from the beginning of the buffer?

Live TV streams broken

Sunday 18 or Monday 19 July something changed in the VRT live streams that NUPlayer cannot handle.

Either the video activity crashes or video stops for a few seconds while audio continues making watching Live TV impossible.

Feel free to comment on this issue if you have any relevant feedback.

App indicated "Please fill in your password" when using mobile phone as remote

Since I have a difficult password, I've used the Android Remote app on my phone to paste my password during setup.

The password was filled in, but the login button complained that "Please fill in your password". When I added a character and removed it, it was fine.

It seems that it wants to have a keypress or something before it allows to continue with login?

Search and On Demand aren't working

I can log in and watch the live streams (via the home page or via the TV guide), but Search and On Demand aren't working.

• The search results remain empty, regardless of what I search for
• The On Demand sub pages are empty and result in the following:
  => Latest: Results in an error: "Could not get latest videos: 0 : null".
  => Series are empty.
  => Categories: the categories are displayed but when selecting one, the following error is displayed: "Could not get/set VRT.Nu category list: 0 : null" and then the section remains empty.
  => Catalog is empty.

I am running this on an NVidia ShieldTV Pro (2019). I don't know if there's a way to see more detailed logs that might be helpful to debug?
