GlotPress is a WordPress plugin to let you set up your own collaborative, web-based software translation tool.

Many open source projects span regions, countries and dialects and need to support a variety of translations, GlotPress is here to help you collaborate online with your translators to ensure your users see your software in their native language.

So who should use GlotPress? Any developer of software that uses gettext, like WordPress theme or plugin authors. But that's just the start, anyone who uses a gettext-based system can use GlotPress to help their translators collaborate.

This plugin wouldn't be possible without all the hard work of the contributors to GlotPress and we'd like to thank all those who help make GlotPress.

Installation

Within WordPress

1. Visit the plugins page within your dashboard and select ‘Add New’
2. Search for ‘GlotPress’
3. Activate ‘GlotPress’ from your Plugins page

Manually

1. Upload the ‘glotpress’ folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the GlotPress plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

After activation

1. GlotPress can be accessed via <home_url>/glotpress/.
2. You’re done!

Display all translations for a specific string

When discussing making changes to strings it would be interesting to be able to see all of the translations for the specific string.

A specific example would be the string change in #core-38545 where Archives: %s is being changed to Archives:.

translate.wp.com already has this feature: https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/-all-translated/171842/

How about making all strings on the website into one file?

For better i18n support.

Keyboard shortcuts on laptops

Some shortcuts like Ctrl + and Ctrl - does not work when not using a numeric keyboard, like in small laptops. Generally does not work when comes in keys like += and _-.

"Mark as fuzzy" feature request

I just encountered a case, in which i wanted the translation to be marked for future reconsideration, but wasn't able to find so, i also asked on slack, so somebody suggested to post here.

Here is the issue i encountered -

Actually my problem is in translating "Category Feed" we have translation of category in gujarati, but nothing for feed.

Even the best definition i found was here - http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds

So, i have to translate it phonetically feed, and it was creating an awkward combination. So i thought marking it as "fuzzy" for future re-consideration would be nice.

Let me know your thoughts for it.
