Dotfiles for my Arch based Framework Laptop

Dotfiles for Arch Linux with riverwm, zsh, neovim, qutebrowser, and overall a vim-based workflow, with the beautiful kanagawa colorscheme.

Only curl, git and sudo privileges are required to install the dotfiles. Currently only compatible with Arch Linux (probably Arch-based Distros (as long as they use systemd) as well, I just didn't test it).

Run the following command:

curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gnbi/dotfiles/main/install.sh | sh

CAUTION: never run shell scripts without checking them first

music clients

good options are of course mpd+ncmpcpp or cmus

calender clients

interesting cli/tui options: calcurse, khal

turn screen automatically off

wlr-randr has the option to turn off the screen automatically, it could turn off the screen in combination with swayidle, for power saving reasons

configure mako

find a good notification server

look into `tmux` more

tmux has clunky keybinds atm, read more resources regarding it

write script for toggeling bluetooth controller in status bar

should be possible with sed and bluetoothctl show

configure neomutt

good how-tos:
by seniormars

configure `wob`

wob is a simple bar overlay for volume brightness etc.
configuration in man 5 wob.ini

own neovim config

advantages: probably faster, i would know the codebase
disadvantages: a pain to write

vpn in i3status

currently while using a vpn the network block reads: Failed to render full text

update pkgs

type umlaute with keyboard

find alternative as xmodmap only works for x11

email clients

good ideas would be: mutt, NeoMutt, Thunderbird
look into other alternatives

dmenu scripts

take a look at dmenu-scripts, and maybe adapt some for bemenu

interesting ones:
