Doesn't autodetect .cpp files

Seems to autodetect other file types (tried .lua, for example). But when I open a .cpp file, it defaults to text. Highlighting works fine if I manually switch to c++, but it doesn't stick. If I open another .cpp file, I have to manually switch to c++.

Note that .hpp files do open as c++ files.

connection problem to ftp

Hi,
I don't succeed to connect to my ftp server. not a firewall problem obviously because I've tried also from inside the network.

it shows me all the time the username and password window but there are correct so I don't understand.

SQL not supported

The program won't open sql source code. In an attempt to find another use for the app, I tried to create a new file in which I could write out code and that doesn't work either. If these functions are not available, I'd like to request a refund for this purchase.

2FA Not Handled

I have my SSH server which is using 2FA. So after a password, it will ask for Verification Code, which is an OTP. I am unable to login with your app now.

Delete key fails from external keyboard

When typing the name of a new remote FTP connection, the delete key does not function.

I've hard restarted the device (iPad Pro 9.3.2) and deleted and reinstalled the app.

Bug: Disabling auto-keyboard blocks all keyboard input

If I set "Enable Auto-keyboard" to false, typing anything at all no longer works — I can't even use the arrow keys to move the cursor around. Turning "Enable Auto-keyboard" back on fixes the problem.

I can reproduce this 100% of the time, and would be happy to make a screencast if that's useful, although you wouldn't be able to tell when I am hitting keys on my keyboard. 😄)

I'm on a 10.5" iPad Pro with a Smart Keyboard attached.

Having issues with remote connections...

Setup on sftp port 22, app fails to connect, then afterwords brings up login page which fails to do anything,
Tried installing the connector from this repo, got the code, add it to the app but the submit button fails to do anything.
Tried ftp port 21 failed to connect.
I have an ssh she'll on stfp functioning correctly on this iOS device...

REMOTE SFTP issue

I have been able to connect to my server via SFTP from GoCoEdit on IPhone without issues. My rsa fingerprint has been changed on my server, so I can't connect now. I've removed the connection and added it back in GoCoEdit, but connection fails. How do I remove the fingerprint for that server in GoCoEdit?

Last few lines of file hidden by keyboard bar

The last few lines of a large file are hidden by the keyboard bar. I can scroll up and down to see the lines, but if I try to edit the lines, I cannot actually see them.

FTP dirs look like files and GoCoEdit fails to open them

Been considering GoCoEdit but needed to view a file from an FTP server and so I purchased it.

I added the remote FTP server, connected successfully, and the dir list shows the dates in full format with only enough room for a few letters of the end of the dir name.

What's more, the dirs can't be entered. After tapping any dir, the app reports "Can't open file, no access" etc.

I set the initial dir to a specific dir and get a similar error message, "Can't open file".

I only have read access to some dirs, but have write access to one and it behaves the same. Device is iPad Pro 9.3.2.

FTP connection showing two instances of the same file

When connecting to a FTP site and I click on a file with an .ASPX extension, it's displayed twice and I have no way to view it in the code editor.

Message me and I can provide FTP access; this seems to be only happening on Windows FTP servers.

GoCoEdit returns me to home screen when I open it on my iPhone (Dropbox initial directory issue?)

I just installed GoCoEit on both my iPad (iOS 11.0.1) and my iPhone 7 (iOS 10.3.3). It worked fine on my iPad, but not my iPhone. A user named haxblade reported the exact same problem I had on Aug 11 (Crash on open #24). It doesn't actually crash, but returns me to the home screen. This did not happen until I connected it to Dropbox. You asked him if he had "any crash logs" or if he had "tried to delete and reinstall GCE." I don't know where crash logs are on the iPhone, but I did try reinstalling it. It worked fine after reconnecting it to Dropbox. One thing I did differently was that I did not specify an initial directory the second time on the iPhone. I did not do it the first time on the iPad and it worked fine then.

So, I suspect that it might have something to do with specifying an initial directory.

Unable to preview files in the browser...

I just got GoCoEdit on my iPhone SE and am unable to find where to preview my code. I don't see how to open it in Safari or in the internal browser like the options in the settings suggest that I should be able to do.

Custom Syntax -- Case Sensitivity for Regular Expressions

Hello,

I was attempting to try my hand at writing a custom syntax for the Fountain Screenwriting spec (http://fountain.io). However, it seems regular expressions for custom syntaxes are currently case INsensitive. That is [A-Z] is the same as [a-z].

Would you be able you confirm?

I have downloaded the Dash App and insert the line in the gcemode file. But what and how to trigger within the code editor? I imagine it is possssible to lookup definitions / helps within the GoCoEdit editor, just like in Pythonista ?

iCloud Drive support?

Any chance of getting first-class iCloud Drive support, e.g. making it work like Dropbox or Google Drive do?

Feature request: split-screen terminal

It'd be great if I could keep a terminal on-screen while I work (e.g. while working on unit tests). Being able to have a terminal at the bottom or on the right would be enormously helpful. 🙏

PS: Keep up the good work! GoCoEdit is wonderful.

File loading and closing

I've just updated to new version of gocoedit. I have latest version of ios 11 running on iPad mini 2. I have an issue with files that are already open on the editor. I can't get them to load and I can't get them to close. Your input would be appreciated!

Syntax mode changes to default (text) when killing app and reopening

When I make a script I go and select the syntax mode (I change it from text to C#), create the script and save it. When I close out the app (and kill from multitasking), and open it back up, I go back to the script and the syntax mode is back to text. It's making me change all my scripts to my syntax mode and it's quite tedious. Is there a way I can have the syntax mode saved across all scripts and even when I create new ones without having to change it each time I open the app? Thanks guys!

App seems awesome but I've bought a bunch of apps before and was disappointed. Do u have any sort of video on YouTube or other that shows the UI and functionality a bit better?

While I'm here...Might as well ask my question:
I'm a web developer. I use mongodb, nodejs for server and webpack for builds.
Is it possible for me to ssh to my Mac or raspberry pi and then:

• launch mongodb through a terminal tab
• open a new terminal window, launch webpack,
• launch another terminal ssh and launch my node server...
• And edit my files on the other computer through ssh?

PS I think it's a very common workflow for web developers btw. If u can do this, u should make it more obvious on your landing/sales pages

Crash on open

Hallo!

I've just installed GoCoEdit. It is overkill for what I need, but so many of the other text/document editors for iOS haven't made updates since years. However, after connecting GoCoEdit to Dropbox, whenever I launch the app, it immediately returns me to my home screen. The app appears to still be running in the background, but I can't interact with it or it crashes again. iPhone 5S, iOS 10.3.3 Dropbox was configured with name = 'docs', initial path = 'docs' (which is an existing folder within the Dropbox folder)

SSH (Minishell) not working.

Amazing app, congrats. Finally a decent editor for iOS devices.
I do have a problem with it though - minishell get's stuck at connecting. I've tried both iPad Air, and iPad 4, as well as multiple iPhones. I also tried multiple servers...

Any suggestions?

Text color bug

In Javascript code "(" and ")" or "{" and "}" are originally displayed as pairs, but if these two lines are separated by more than 100 lines, it will be recognized that they are not paired.

I want to use this app for writing Java Programs. I’m using an external keyboard with my iPad and when I try to type a double quotation mark, like this vertical one ", it instead inputs a slanted one “, which will not do for java. Since the slanted double quote has a different Unicode value from the vertical one, when I try to declare a string it outputs an error. For example:

When compiled this code outputs these two errors regarding the quotations:

I am aware of the black tab at the bottom of the screen that has the correct type of quotation mark, but because I’m using an external keyboard this is very inconvenient. I tried to make use of custom text replacements in the settings of my iPad, so that it would replace my incorrect quotations with the correct one but this didn’t work because it has to be padded by white space for the text replacements to work.

what's the format of the key for conencting a sftp server should be?

is a privatekey from puttygen good? because it doesn t seem to ask me for the password of the key but only the password of the server....

No Passcode Reset Option

I made the unfortunate mistake of not writing down a passcode while just poking around with various settings in gocoedit. The settings work as they should, but though I can unlock the app with touch ID there is no way once in the app to turn off the setting without the actual password. Deleting the app and reinstalling has also been of no help, it always reverts to requiring the password. Any ideas?

Entering shell commands duplicates them

Whenever I SSH Into my server and enter something, pressing return seems to duplicate the whole line again first then act upon the return key. Using v8.4 on iPad Pro 9.7

cannot open text files over sftp

hello it appears that there is limit on file size when attempting to open txt files over sftp can that be altered? i have file with size 30 or 40mb that the app refuses to open

Unable to use private key for sftp

When trying to use a private key for accessing an SFTP server I get the following error:

“Public key authentication failed with -16”

I used several different known good keys to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Need documentation on how you envision a user to use private keys

Right now the only authentication I allow on my server is key with password disabled. What do I need to do in your app, start to finish, to connect to my server?
What type of file do I need to save the key as? How do I transfer it? Where do you recommend I keep it? Etc...

Cannot connect to onedrive

Well, the subject says it all. My account supposedly does not exist. It does, I checked it.

Could you publish the gcemode files for currently supported syntaxes? I'm having trouble understanding the format and I was hoping to look at Markdown's. I'm trying to make a gcemode for org-mode.

Lost all data / unable to resume working

This morning, I can no longer work in GoCoEdit with the following issues:

• random popup with no info shows up on the main screen. Cannot dismiss.
• My remote servers have been lost, nor can I add fresh ones to resume working.

Cannot use (search and) replace with newline character

the ctrl+o shortcut does not work in the search and replace dialog.

Like in the title, I'm keeping getting this error, after I added a new sftp server to GoCoEdit.
I had tested on Putty that the key was OK to use.

But several days earlier, I added another sftp server, and it's working fine always.

onedrive logon does not recognise account

Trying to logon with my work Office 365 account to access OneDrive, but the logon screen that gocoedit displays says that my account cannot be found. OneDrive app itself works fine with my logon.

Parentheses and Quotes changing character

Maybe this is a new IOS 11 thing? I’m not sure. But it seem that now when I am trying to write strings the single and double quotes are being automatically changed into the Unicode quotes (with the upward and downward strokes) which is breaking the syntax highlighting.

Keyboard positioning render app unusable

After latest update i have an issue with keyboard wich prevents app from being used. Apparently keyboard doesn`t stay at the bottom anymore. It floats to the center of screen, over the text. Hide/show keyboard or reinstall app does not help.

Before this issue arrived i managed to accidentally swipe misterious screen from right side of iPad (ipad2, ios10). May be this is related
