University of Bristol Thesis LaTeX Class

This is not an official University of Bristol template (there isn't one.) This is my own work which I started to provide a modern template for my wife's PhD thesis and I am now revisiting for my own.

The University of Bristol format requirements are not very strict or detailled so there is a lot of creative license that can be applied here. This is just my own interpretation of the requirements.

change chapter format to use tikz

should hopefully solve the irregular spacing between the lines.

cleanup to speed up compilation

The class is probably loading way too many packages which is slowing down unnecessarily compilation.
Need to go through them and make to to only load what is actually needed.

include glossaries package in class

currently set up in my document source, should be part of the class,
Currently using glossaries to display acronyms but should figure out also how to use it to default variables and constants used in thesis.

add option for cover logo

option to either:

• remove logo
• UoB Crest only
• Full UoB logo (default)
• use your own? maybe, but not sure

space above chapter title gets squashed in some circomstances

a chapter with no text but with the structure in place will see the chapter heading pushed all the way to the top of the page.

crash with hyperref error after TeXLive 2019 update

Compilation now crashes with the following error
