homebrew-devtools's Issues

adoptopenjdk8 fails in gu-base.rb

Update 61056fd to gu-base.rb fails when using strap.sh.
Error message:

Error: Cask 'adoptopenjdk8' is unavailable: No Cask with this name exists.
!!! Executing 'brew cask install gu-base': FAILED

Can be fixed manually by running brew cask install adoptopenjdk/openjdk/adoptopenjdk8 prior to runningstrap.sh

Update other build configuration

The master branch of this repository has been migrated to main using the master-to-main tool.

Please check any build related configuration and update as required:

  • TeamCity - See the required steps in the migrating.md document
  • Change snyk github integration(s) - it uses the default branch, but you will need to delete and reimport the project+file as this is the only way to refresh the default branch at present.
  • Any other externally configured analysis tooling your team is using e.g. travis CI

It's probably a good idea to merge test PR to main once this is complete, to make sure that everything is working as expected. ๐Ÿ™‚

Chrome app already existing on Macbook breaks gu-base

When does the issue occur

Setting up a new Macbook and running brew cask install guardian/devtools/gu-base

What happens

Homebrew errors and exits early due to Chrome already existing as part of the dev build:

Error: It seems there is already an App at '/Applications/Google Chrome.app'.

Since Chrome is one of the first applications to install, this means Homebrew does not get to the good stuff, such as IntelliJ or iTerm2 ๐Ÿ˜ข
