app crashes after parsing language pack

It seems since the September 4 update, many users cannot open the app. After an initial download and parsing of one language, the app welcomes you and then closes. When you reopen it, it hangs on a blue welcome screen. I am on android 4.2.2. It would be great to get this bug fixed, as I have a particular need for dual language, living in a country where mandarin is the main language...

Pinyin is mangled

It used to be the Pinyin was based on China-Scribes output... But now the output is a font that does not treat the accents properly, it mangles the accent marks. It looks weird.

Tried to Build

Granted I'm new to Xamarin. I have had Xamarin on my machine for some time, and wanted to build with it. But as your project is in disrepair (it blows up after attempting to load docs, it has been in disrepair on/off a lot over the years...) I thought I would tinker with it myself. But I'm having trouble finding some references that are not included. I'm assuming I can just dump 'ICSharpCode', that I'm getting an error on. I'm guessing that is because your're using Visual Studio, and I'm being cheap and wanting to use the actual Xamarin to build. It won't let me add that package. But I wonder if I actually need it anyway.
I did find another GIT to 'SlidingMenuBinding', but I have to figure out how to add it. It does not add just by 'AddPackage'. And I'm not sure about 'ParseBinding' or 'StickyGridHeadersBinding' - Those all I'm getting a reference error on.

Until I or someone, since the developer has gone missing, come up with something else:
These are the only fixes for now:

This will work if you had a prior working super-NWT app, that is prior to 1/1. Fool the device into thinking it is an earlier date. This is a Non-Root fix:

Go into ‘Settings’ - ‘Date/Time’

1. Uncheck ‘Automatc date & time’
2. Set date dec 22 2014 or something
   a. (or another date… It’ll give you a few days, until I come up with something else)

If you have a rooted device:

Download app: "Jota Text Editor"
Use a root explorer like Es File explorer to
Then just going into your data/data directory look for com.gem.nwtbiblefree /files/English (2013) / find the file dailyText.xml

1. Copy that file from the data directory to home.
2. change the extension to .txt (dailyText.txt)
3. Then click on the file to open with 'Jota'
4. Do a find and replace all entries "2014" to "2015"
5. then save
6. Rename back to "dailyText.xml"
7. Copy, overwrite back to your data directory, where you found it.

Now should work...

The downloader is busted as well. So you won't be able to refresh files. However if you have a rooted device you might be able to backup from another working device.

Pinyin Language Pack

Pinyin language pack not installing on all three of my devices. Samsung S3 - CyanogenMod 11. Nexus 7 2012 - CM11, and Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 - stock. Gets to about package 20 then skips to 96.

font size

Font size should not be a selection of six choices. On this large tablet: "small" is too big and "almost impossible" is just that.. too small. If you can't include a slider bar...at least include more choices. Thanx.
