hackerhours.org's Issues

add questions to DIY guide

Sent these to a company who expressed interest in hosting:

  • Can you tell me a bit about what what made you want to start doing Hacker Hours?
  • Do you have any specific goals/objectives for it? (recruiting, brand recognition, giving back, etc.)
  • What are you thinking in terms of frequency?
  • What is the space like?
  • How many attendees can your space hold comfortably?
  • How many folks from your organization do you expect to stay for each event, on average? How many of them are technical?

Some may exist in there already.

create a logo

would be great to be able to give to other groups for cross-promotion, instead of the stolen image I've been using as the Meetup group's avatar ๐Ÿ˜

add in-page navigation

Pointed someone to the resources page page today, and they totally missed some sections on the page that would have been relevant to them. Would be good to have some navigation above the fold to show all the different types of resources that are available.

add a full Code of Conduct

The Policies are a start, but aren't sufficient.

  • Expectations of participants (no guarantee that we can solve any particular technical issue, etc.)
  • Consequences for violation of policies

Open Source Workshop

Hi, I did a pull request a while ago to participate in this workshop with my girlfriend and I didn't get any response. Is there any way I can know if I got in? It seems that I am not part of the participants' list. I would appreciate if you could give me some guidance on this issue.
Best regards,
Patricio Calderon

Add list of tutors

Had a bunch of people looking/offering (see "JS Tutors?" thread on mailing list) - would be nice to make a list on the site with skill lists and have it link to their email or Meetup profile page to contact them. Also, include instructions about how to add oneself as a tutor.

new brand identity

  • Create a logo - #25
  • Incorporate logo into site - #162
  • Create thumbnail variation
  • Replace Slack Workspace icon
  • Incorporate fonts into site
  • Incorporate colors into site
  • Upload logo to Meetup
  • Change the color scheme of the Meetup group
  • Offer use of branding materials in DIY Guide
  • Announce to mailing list
