When I open an artist page it gives me this error a lot it seems random, but it doesn't happen when I'm playing the song of that artist, based on that I found a "fix"where I have to play an artist's song so that I can open his page. my settings are use the current song as bg and use home bg everywhere, I wonder if there was an option to allow home bg everywhere even on artists pages would be a temporary fix
my spicetify v2.16.1 and I installed through the marketplace.
I wanna say I love this project so much, It's my favourite Theme/addition to the app
I'm using the 'use currently playing song as home bg' option and it would be sweet with some blur. Maybe in combination with not hiding the original album art if the rest is gonna be blurred, or only having blur in the home menu.
Love the theme!
I really don't wanna redo everything and take as much time as I did when I first found the links for the backgrounds is there a way to solve it without installing and uninstalling it?
i assume this could be me being stupid but i can't for the life of me figure out how to fix it. the album art for all the songs are missing and idk how to get it back (like in the 2nd screenshot in the "Fullscreen Artist/Album Backgrounds" section of the readme)
Followed the instructions in the readme, and after completing the steps, I do not see the edit button at the top left, nor do any playlists have the album image as a background.
Got a few questions. The file extension.js that goes in the extensions folder of /.spicetify, is that a file that is in this repo or is it a file we need to create? Cause if you simply add a file called extension.js then run the command spicetify config extensions galaxy.js
and then spicetify apply
spicetify throws an error about galaxy.js not existing.
I tried creating a galaxy.js file in extensions, and put the code from theme.js (the only js file I could find in your repo, if this is the wrong file please lmk). Is there an extension.js file somewhere in the repo that I overlooked?
My library and friend activities background is black not transparent
Spicetify version: 2.14.1
Installed spicetify-galaxy using git clone in the themes folder, tried manually installing Retroblur to test, and it worked fine. Spicetify-galaxy has backgrounds for playlists and albums when installed using Marketplace. I installed it manually because the marketplace has an issue with the background, an issue Retroblur has too, which doesn't happen (at least as tested with Retroblur), if installed directly from GitHub.
This is what I see after manually installing the theme:
Playlists:
Albums:
i cant use the hover panels snippet. Its not showing for some reason but the albums are there as i can read the album names when i put my cursor over them but i cant actually see them
The full screen background for current playing song and the artist page works fine but does not change on opening a playlist like it used to before.

Title says it all great theme! :)
I used the 1 click install through marketplace. I was able to change background image fine using the edit on the home screen. However I would like to change the colors and GUI as well. It says "Go into your theme folder and open either: color.ini or user.css" however, I can only find files likes these in "roaming" and "local" and I only see default stuff and adding a "[base] with color changes" to the default one had no luck. thanks for any help!
spicetify updated and now the theme has a black background and removed the option to change the background
i used link (https://www.wallpaperflare.com/black-muscle-car-black-dodge-challenger-near-neon-gas-gas-station-wallpaper-phymj) and also the downloaded file but its complete black

GoToSong and some plugins have sub-options that open on the left side, and since this theme places the profile picture on the left side (which is more aesthetically pleasing), the options can't be seen regardless of the window size/fullscreen. Is this to be changed from the extension config files itself?
Experimental features page is frozen; you can't scroll up and down, only the search functionality can be used. This doesn't happen in SpicetifyDefault.
Is there a way to change the text's colors? and what are the dimensions of the backgrounds to be properly displayed? (sometimes pictures get cropped)
Spicetify Version: 2.16.2
Installation Method: Marketplace
There is a lot of lag whenever you scroll near the top of the page vs anywhere else on the same page, every other part of the ui and the theme runs completely fine.
I imagine it has something to do with the gradient effect that lightens the background near the top of the page and darkens it below.
I don't really know what you could do to help mitigate the lag or if you could do anything at all, but im leaving this here just in case.
My suggestion would be to maybe add an option to disable the gradient effect and have the background be the same brightness across the page, which may help with the lag.
Example:
The cover art on the left side is only half and it's cropped by the player bar
I want to modify this js code,
I want to be only on the playlist page, album page and artist(No Background) page.
Add element
The following is the wrong code,
I don’t know how to modify it,
I really like the theme you made, can you help me, thank you very much.
Just updated to:
They made the Library X thing a permanent in this one, and the theme seems broken, left sidebar is all black and there's a gap between the topbar and the sidebars.
Works fine on till v1.2.13.661.ga588f749 of spotify.
Hello, I just installed the galaxy theme today but the home button is broken it's upside and I can't click it. I hope you'll be able to fix it. since I installed spicetify it's my favorite. this is an ss. https://oxyroses.discowd.com/Spotify_lpUcbdFiof.png
why i don't see your user.css in my theme folder, because if i could see it i'm 90% sure i could remove that gradient on my own
i installed your theme through marketplace, should i do it manually?
btw this is what i get in marketplace with your theme (like a lot of invalid css idk if it's common but ig it's not)

I recently discovered that you cannot add background to the playlists that are not yours. To be fair personal playlists trigger the playlist-edit dialog on clicking the edit button. While other playlists(not created by user) do not trigger the playlist-edit dialog where the 'add background' feature of the Galaxy theme resides. I was wondering if this can be made possible. Because I have favourited around 30+ playlists and would love them to have custom backgrounds like my own playlists.
The background does not change with song change when the liked songs page is open.
Hey, I'm the creator of the Retroblur spicetify theme and I was wondering if I could implement a modified version of your background image switcher code in my theme, giving credits to you of course.
Due to your theme not having a licence, I'm assuming it's All Rights Reserved, so it would be very nice if you gave me permission to use that part of your code in my MIT licenced theme.

I like the layout and design of theme but I rather not change my wallpaper for each playlist, song etc..
so an option to keep the main page wallpaper everywhere would be great
An option which can be enabled to automatically change the home screen background to that of the currently playing:
I used to use musicbee before I started using Spotify and it used to fetch what I earlier mentioned using APIs and display as the background art. I think it would be an awesome feature if it could be integrated into this theme. There are quite a few sources to fetch these images from.
Love the theme btw, always wanted something like this.
so i dont have a .spicetify folder? theres only spicetify-themes-master which is in downloads. and there are multiple user.css and color.ini folders. idk i might be stupid im new to all of this stuff so please help!
Currently the Friend Activity sidebar isn't themed so it has the default black and non-transparent background.
It would be nice if this could be added and that maybe additionally the heading text could be slightly moved up so it looks less weird.
How it currently looks with the Friend Activity sidebar enabled:
First, the text was translated with Deepl. Second, your Galaxy theme is really cool. I only have one request, could you add a button that turns off the background in the lyrics? These can be read (at least with me) only very badly before they are right from the timing to the music or if I hover over it with my mouse. If there is an extra section where improvements can be suggested, I'm sorry to write this here, I'm new to Github.
Yours
Jacob
I'm new to github and not really sure what im doing, but i cloned the repo and created files on my desktop, then followed your steps. After running the commands in powershell, there is an error 'Theme "Galaxy" not found' I've had the theme installed from the marketplace, but it doesn't look like it does in your images, so i figured i should try installing through powershell.
Please help :)
