Overview

write_some is a webapp, sort of like 750words, for doing regular writing. write_some aims to solve a very different set of problems, however, and so will have a very different set of features.

write_some's Issues

need textfile based export for durability/platform independence.

need vagrantfile

asset precompilation is wonky.

It's not working, but since I've enabled on demand asset compilation, things are a-okay for now. Should be fixed in the long run, of course.

This shit is not secure yet. That should be super obvious.

make the defaults a little saner

text field should be bigger by default, app should route to new scribble by default.

gemfile is not deploy friendly

This needs to be fixed for launch. Should be relatively easy, though I'm not sure quite how to do it.

Make secret config private to each install.

Since this is intended to be run by whoever wants, it needs to auto-generate the secret keys and whatnot, and store them somewhere.

Right now there are these left to do:

• rails secret key
• devise secret
• database stuff? check on it at least

basic redesign

Need to make it look less stupid, and add some copy explaining what this thing actually is. Doesn't need to be super awesome, but it needs to be not-awful (which is what it is now).
