you can try in - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath;
perform your code in main thread like this:

dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
        // dismiss viewController
    });
