hegsrr-manual's Issues

Proofread section on why to use Git

@doabell Can you proofread and suggest any important revisions to the provocation chapter section on why to use Git?
Also, in case people do run into situations where they have to manage merge conflicts, can you suggest a good reference or tutorial on doing that?

Migrate to Quarto

Quarto https://quarto.org/

General reasons:

  • Quarto supersedes bookdown and similar packages. While bookdown still works, new functionality will happen in Quarto.
  • Quarto is independent of R, so no need to install R
  • Better functionality, for example Shiny or Jupyter chunk options
  • Better documentation, has a folder structure

Reasons specific to this project:

  • Quarto is a publishing system that can run R and Python
  • Good demonstration of building out a website / book out of one's project, using .Rmd or .ipynb files
