Connect to a range of Mullvad proxies without manual configuration. Currently supports Firefox and Chromium-based browsers:

Usage

Ensure you're connected to Mullvad VPN before attempting to connect to a proxy, as they're only accessible internally. Connecting via WireGuard will allow a full selection of server locations, whereas OpenVPN connections are limited to the current location only.

Running multiple proxy extensions simultaneously may cause conflicts.

Building

git clone https://github.com/hensm/mullvad-proxy
cd mullvad-proxy
npm install
npm run build

Build scripts

• npm run build
  Builds extension and outputs to dist/.

• npm run watch
  Same as build, but also rebuilds on file changes.

• npm run start
  Starts a development instance of Firefox with the built extension (from dist/) installed. To use with other browsers, use start:chrome or start:edge scripts, or see the -t/--target web-ext option.

• npm run package
  Builds and packages extension as an XPI archive. Outputs to web-ext-artifacts/.

Add Toggle to not check for Mullvad VPN

Hi,

WHAT
It would be great if you could add a toggle to set the proxy settings without checking for a mullvad VPN connection.

WHY
I use a split VPN for the 10.124.0.0/16 network used by the mullvad proxy servers.
That way I get the benefit of mullvad proxies in all Browsers or applications I set it,
while the rest of the system goes over the normal ISP connection

Ensure early requests go through proxy if auto-connect is enabled

Auto-connect should probably block/suspend requests made before the extension is properly initialized.

Firefox

Re-structure proxy registration to use a persistent event listener for proxy.onRequest. Must be at top-level, not within async callback/func. Currently requires data from async storage via options lib to create proxy details object.

Chromium

Solution unclear, needs more research.

Support For Pale Moon (Firefox Fork)

Hey!

Thanks for the amazing work on this plugin, I've used it on Firefox and it works really well. However, I've recently shifted to Pale Moon browser (which is a fork of Firefox) and the extension isn't working on Pale Moon.

It seems that Pale Moon, and many related browsers (Basilisk, Sea Monkey, IceCat, K Meleon) use the XUL framework, as opposed to WebExtensions.

I'd really appreciate it if you could make a Pale Moon compatible plugin. I'd love to be able to continue using your plugin.

Optionally persist connection state across restarts

Chrome Web Store?

Can't install the extension from the Edge store because it requires Edge, not just any Chromium-based browser :(
Have to load unpacked which is in general a pain.
Pushing to Chrome Web Store would fix all Chromium-browser related problems :)

Optionally auto-connect to the current VPN server location

Request: make new release on addons.mozilla.org

It seems that the exclude host feature was added, but is not in any released version. Can you make a new release on addons.mozilla.org ?

Option to exclude domains [feature request]

Firstly, great extension! I just discovered it and it works perfectly.

Just a thought; one useful feature that could be added to this would be a whitelist (or blacklist?) option for excluding specified domains from being proxied. If it's possible and if you have the time/motivation for it :)

Filter by Server Provider

I would like the ability to narrow it down so that certain server providers (e.g. DataPacket, M247) are not displayed.

does not detect mullvad running maybe api change

app is broken as of today 9-25-22. just goes round and round and says not connected maybe mullvad changed api again but yeah i would really appricate if you could update and fix this problem i have the problem in firefox and edge and it just goes round and round and says not connected. then it just does not give any options.

Proxy Connection Failed in Edge

I'm running Edge on macOS Ventura with an M1 MacBook Pro. The extension works fine on Firefox, but on Edge no matter what I select I get an error:
"Proxy Connection Failed. Could not connect to… "

minor issue with disconnects

The proxy disconnects occasionally when paired with the desktop app.

Add the ability to assign proxies to containers

As the title says... please consider implementing the ability to assign proxies to specific containers.
