k4Gen

Gaudi Components for Generators in the Key4HEP software framework. See the FCC Tutorials for documentation on the usage in FCC / Key4hep.

The pre-compiled components are available in the Key4hep stack on machines with CVMFS:

source /cvmfs/sw.hsf.org/key4hep/setup.sh

Dependencies

• Gaudi

• Pythia8
• EvtGen
• HepMC3
• HepPDT

Building

After fetching the repository, do

source /cvmfs/sw.hsf.org/key4hep/setup.sh
mkdir build install
cd build
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=install ..
make -j4
make install
cd ..
k4_local_repo  # will update all necessary environment variables

k4gen's Issues

PythiaInterface should produce directly events in EDM format, at least as an option

Having to run a converter after the generation seems an inefficiency.
We should implement a direct Pythia8 to EDM converter tool.

Mass not filled when converting from HepMC to EDM4hep

Port Evtgen interface changes from k4SimDelphes

Implement KKMCeeInterface and HerwigInterface

Following the lines of PythiaInterface.
This would allow to simplify access to these tools.

Add HepMC3 components
