quickdroid's Issues

New bookmarks not found

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch quickdroid
2. Write the name of a recently added bookmark
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I should see a match to the bookmark but I don't. I can only find bookmarks
that have been added in the past - possible before the launch of the latest
quickdroid version.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Quickdroid 4.3.2, Android 4.2

Please provide any additional information below.
The program used to work flawlessly. Then I noticed that it couldn't find any
new bookmarks that I had added recently.

Search doesn't work with accented/international characters

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have any contact with accented characters (like "Jesús") in the contact
book.
2. Launch Quickdroid.
3. Searching for "Jesús" or "jesus" won't find the contact. Searching for
"Jes" will.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Actually I expect to find the contact if I spell it as it's stored (with
the special character). It would be fantastic for it to find the contact by
entering the "unaccented" character too.

Instead, it doesn't find it even if typed in exactly the same way.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

2.5 on Android 1.6 on Samsung Galaxy GT i7500.

Please provide any additional information below.

QuickDroid doesn't work in emulators

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch QuickDroid on a 2.2 SDK emulator
2. Launch QuickDroid on a 4.0.3 SDK emulator
3. Launch QuickDroid on a physical device - Droid Bionic

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The app should behave and look the same on a physical device as well as an
emulator. Instead, it only shows a blank screen on the emulator that says
"Hello World, QuickDroid activity". No search functionality is activated by
QuickDroid on the emulator.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The trunk from SVN. Windows 8.

Please provide any additional information below.

integrate quickdroid with stock search

Please consider integrating quickdroid with the default search, as accessed on
SE Xperia X10 via 'menu button > search'.

What I have in mind is for quickdroid to add itself to Settings > Search >
Searchable Items, so that the user could select it. In that case, searching via
'menu button > search' would (also) search via Quickdroid. This would avoid the
need to specifically launch Quickdroid when needed.

Quickdroid launches the wrong contact.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. use quickdroid to find a contact
2. contact shows up
3. press on contact name.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect to see the person's contact card. It pulls up the wrong
contact card. Applications go to the correct application

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v2.6 Android 1.6 Operating system 2.1 (developer rom)

Please provide any additional information below.

Quickdroid quits to desktop

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Quickdroid from the magnifying glass icon in the notifications area.
2. Just wait a few seconds.
3. Program closes and returns to desktop.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I see nothing, the program closes.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.0.1 in Android 2.2

Please provide any additional information below.

Search contacts by number

Search for contact only works by name, it would be nice to be able to search by
any of contact's fields.

c-menu item to create desktop shorcuts

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open quickdroid and search for an app
2. Long-click an app item
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Currently there is only a 'Remove from list' c-menu item. When the selected
item is an app, I would suggest to a 'Create desktop shortcut' item that would
allow users to drag the app to the desktop to create a shortcut. This would be
similar to how Android allows users to create shortcuts when browsing the apps
via its Menu button.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
quickdroid 4.0.2 on Android 2.3.4.

Please provide any additional information below.
I believe this feature would be very useful because Android doesn't allow for
easy filtering of apps and allow to subsequently create a shortcut. The only
way to do it now is to browse the apps via the Menu (currently I have >10 pages
of installed apps) and then DnD to the desktop. To add a 2nd shortcut you would
need to re-browse. With quickdroid it would be much easier.

soft keyboard (swype) does not autolaunch on g2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Pull down notifications bar
2. Tap 'quickdroid'
3. Quickdroid pops up but soft keyboard does not launch.

This is on quickdroid 2.9.6, android 2.2, stock t-mobile HTC G2.

I made sure that 'do not launch soft keyboard' was not checked in the settings.
